A very private and intimate hotel. Located outside of the bustle of St. Jean or Gustavia (one might say quite isolated). You trade proximity to much of St. Barths for quiet. Driving to all restaurants, except the one at the hotel, is required. It is a 50 euro taxi ride (one way) to most everywhere. St. Barths is very drivable during the day but intimidating at night due to the dark narrow streets (especially after a cocktail). All accommodations are very spacious suites with a private plunge pool. A separate sitting room, separate bedroom and spacious bathroom provide a feeling of your own home. The resort sits quite a distance from the beach and transportation by jeep, provided complimentary by hotel, is required. There is a lot of vegetation between the sea and the resort which seriously limits views from many of the suites. There are a few quite high along the hillside which probably have very nice views. However, our suite any many others were blocked by trees and a large (not very attrractive) brown salt pond, an eyesore that is hard to avoid. Therefore, we did not use our private pool and patio are very much. The service is outstanding, the food and cocktails are excellent.
