The Ha Giang Riverside Hostel is an excellent place to begin and end a Loop tour. My friend and I did the tour, arranged through Lily's Travel in Hanoi ( see seperate review) with all local Ha Giang service provided by Riverside Hostel. This included a pick up service from the bus station, after arriving by sleeper bus. Binh from Riverside Hostel collected us at 3:00a.m from the bus station, amazing service! We were then able to sleep until morning, shower and have a delicious breakfast before heading off to do the Loop with our two Easy Riders, also arranged by Riverside Hostel. At the completion of the tour we were dropped back at Riverside to await the bus back to Hanoi. Binh was friendly and helpful even at 3:00am, and in the morning Logan and Paul chatted with us over breakfast and informed us of all arrangements. After the Loop ride we were welcomed back as friends. The Hostel is basic, but clean and comfortable with a lovely back deck overlooking the river where you eat breakfast. But it's the service that makes this place a stand-out! Highly recommended as your starting and ending place for the Loop, they will look after you and help make your amazing trip even more so!.

nothing to criticize. because really everything here is very good. The hostel is beautiful, the food is delicious and extremely clean. I have been to many homestays in Ninh Binh and Sapa but this is the place that left the most impression on me. The people here are extremely friendly. They welcome you very openly and thoughtfully. that's all you need.

The location was a bit off the main street, but everything else was wonderful. Especially the owner's family was very kind. On the night I was taking the bus back to Hanoi, I had some time to spare before departure, so I wandered around and when I came back, the owner was waiting to have dinner together. They asked me where I had been, which was very touching. And when it was time for the bus, they even drove me to the bus stop. I tried to give them a tip as an apology, but they refused to take it and just said 'Come again'

GGuest UserOne of the nicer hostels I’ve stayed at for sure! Love love love the wooden bunk bed frames and the beds themselves are huge and comfy. The dorm rooms are also nice and spacious and there’s a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the street. The linens and blankets smell fantastic and there are THREE bathrooms, each with glass-walled showers. Each bed has a light and charging points and there is a stack of towels available, along with a hairdryer, slippers, and lockers with keys. Very convenient location, just a couple hundred meters to the local market and river walkway, and directly across the river there is a small mountain to walk or dive up with stunning views of the city.

I have been to many homestays in Ninh Binh and Sapa but this is the place that left the most impression on me. The people here are extremely friendly. GGuest UserI would really recommend to stay hear. The location is very nice, really good service, room is excellent and the food is delicious! We wanted a tour and they organized everything for us. Also we came very late in the night and they picked us up. After the tour we could fresh us up and chill before they brought us to the bus station. Really amazing. You can see the nice pictures 😍 I would definitely come back. Thank you for everything ☺️

GGuest UserThe location of Yen Bien Luxury hotel and right centralized at the Ha Giang city. It is the upscale choice of the Day 0 stay before the Loop trip. The final day stay is upscale. The grand lobby is luxury. The suite room is big. The breakfast is the better one among the town. The city square, 0km landmark, riverside restaurants, museum, are in walking distance. The bath room and toilet are luxury. Warm Water pressure comes fast. Cool and Warm conditioner is equipped. Suite room has 2 tv sets. The corner room is 55m2 large, which can overview the Lo river and the hills. The distance to the bus station is a few minutes taxi driving. The pool is the better one in town.

GGuest UserWe stayed at the Pheonix Hotel in Ha Giang for 5 nights and had an excellent stay, the staff were highly efficient and extremely helpful. We had a deluxe room with balcony overlooking the river and the view was excellent. The hotel was quiet and I spent 3 days there myself while my partner did the Hi Giang loop, it was a great place to stay solo also and I highly recommend this hotel. From outside, turn right and a mile walk through to interesting sites into the city and up to Ho Chi Minh Square where there is always something taking place with the local schoolchildren, parades/bands etc. There is also a fantastic temple complex in the city, a market, lots of cafes and eating places with vegetarian options, easily found using Google maps etc. Ha Giang is a fantastic city to explore and still unspoiled for now. We would definitely return to the Phoenix Hotel.
