Older hotel, buffet dinner isn’t very good, the room doesn’t have cold Aircon in October.

I went there to spend the New Year's holidays skiing. Although it was a bit far from my home, the hotel was well worth the trip. The parking lot is wide and easy to park upon arrival. The lobby has a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of sofas, a stylish fireplace, and free coffee service, making it a great place to soothe your long journey during the check-in process. The room was on the 3rd floor, which had just been renovated, and an extra bed was added to the standard twin room, allowing two families to sit next to each other. Even if an extra bed is included, there is a 2-seater sofa and a chair for 1 person, and the space is large enough for 3 people to stay comfortably, so the higher-ranked rooms are probably even more spacious. Outside the window was a grove of trees on the ski resort side, but I managed to see some New Year's fireworks as well. There were more than enough amenities in the room, and although Tefal pots are usually filled with water to boil immediately, I was grateful that there was another cold water pot with ice. . The hotel's own sweets and coffee and tea were delicious, so I bought the sweets and coffee as souvenirs to take home. I had some problems, so I'll write them down. In the evening of my first night, I started hearing a trickling sound in the ceiling, and when I asked the hotel to check twice, it turned out that the cause was water droplets from condensation coming from the heating pipes in the hotel. However, despite the busy year end, the hotel staff responded promptly and courteously, adjusting the in-house boiler and changing the room, making it more comfortable. And the food is great! ! ! More than the price! ! ! ! ! First of all, the interior of the restaurant is decorated in chic colors, the windows are wide, and the table arrangement doesn't make it feel cramped, so I was able to enjoy my meal in a relaxed manner. The contents of the buffet, which focuses on locally produced and locally consumed and seasonal ingredients, was also very good. ``Yume Yogurt'' is smooth and especially recommended. As we always change our lodgings every year, this buffet style lodging was the best value for money. The staff were very attentive, and the timing of replenishing food and putting down plates after eating was also good. When I ate, I saw some customers spilling milk and dropping spoons and tongs from the buffet, but the staff quickly took care of them. This sense of speed is also something that no other hotel has ever had before. For skiing, the private lockers were clean and spacious, so I was able to use them without worrying about other people. I have stayed at many hotels that are directly connected to ski resorts, but this one is very good. There are only 3 ski lifts with direct access, so this may not be enough for those who want to enjoy as many slopes as possible, but on the contrary, it seems to be a little-known ski resort, and it's not too crowded, so it's a good place to stay for the year. It was a lot of fun for boarders and skiers (lol) who ski only once or twice a year. You can enjoy the open-air bath even in winter, and the quality of the spring water and the size of the bathroom are great! Although the cleanliness was maintained, the hotel feels sorry for the guests who had bad manners. Also, the face towel amenities are fluffy and there is even a towel for body washing, so I can't really complain. In addition to fireworks, the New Year's event included rice cake pounding at the ski resort (it was a little hard to see inside the lift building) and a lottery, where one "lift ticket" was won and the rest were lost. I received a drink as a participation award. It was nice to have a choice of soft drinks and alcoholic beverages for the participation award, and I was also impressed by the service, which included local beer. Lastly, we apologize for the inconvenience caused when checking out and paying for the room, as the two families had to split the payment for the room. sorry. However, despite this shortcoming, the woman at the front desk treated me like a god! ! ! ! ! They even said, ``We look forward to your next visit.'' We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. I would definitely like to stay at this hotel again, so if I have a chance, I would like to go see "Dragon Eye". I'm really thankful to you. The room is very spacious. Very friendly. The hot spring water quality is so good that you can smell sulfur even in the hotel hallway.

The welcome was very warm and friendly, and the staff went out of their way to be kind and helpful. The whole place had a very nice atmosphere. The room was a decent size, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was, though, very small and the shower was a fiddle to operate and put in position. However, I only used the shower once, since the onsen was excellent. The food offering was great. Most of it was freshly cooked, and there was a tremendous range of cuisines, which changed on a daily basis. The skiing was good on the hills around the hotel but I would also recommend a day trip to Appi Kogen, which is nearby. There is a bus that goes there from the hotel but (at the time of writing) you need to make your own way back.

Free coffee was available in the lobby from 7:00 to 21:00. I was very happy because I didn't have much coffee during my trip to Hachimantai. The lobby had tables at a height where you could read books, and there were also seats around the fireplace, and the furniture was designed to be relaxing. The windows were large and it was very comfortable. Four of us enjoyed playing online games at the tables in the lobby. There were many outlets for charging in the room, which was a big plus. I also liked that the light switches were all in one place, which made it easy to save energy. (If the light switches were scattered all over the room, it would be a pain to turn them all off.) The color of the light was also good (low color temperature for a comfortable feel), and the light intensity was sufficient and adjustable. I thought that this was a well-thought-out hotel. There was plenty of iced water and hot water. However, they only had tea, so I wanted some black tea. (I drove to a small convenience store and bought some.) There were only two washing and drying machines at the coin laundry, and although I think it was off-season in summer, it was still crowded. The bath also says that the maximum number of people is 18, so you may need to choose a time. If you like hot springs, it's also good to visit hot springs outside. We had dinner at the buffet with mini French on one of our two nights, and at the nearby restaurant, Northern Grande, on the other night, so we never got bored. It's adjacent to the Prefectural Forest, so it was fun to take a walk. It would be great in the autumn leaves season and during the ski season, as it is a hotel attached to a ski resort. I would like to stay at this hotel again.

I stayed there for a week from July 27th. The approach to the hotel is along the poplar-lined street. The parking lot is large, and I was always able to park in front of the entrance. I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room. The Japanese-Western style rooms are on the first and second floors. The third floor has twin rooms. The top floor, the fourth floor, has twin mountain rooms. The hot spring "Hachimantai no Yu" is in the annex between the second and third floors, which is connected by a staircase on the west side of the main building. A simple sulfur spring is piped from the source of the Matsukawa Geothermal Power Plant. The hallway smells of sulfur. There are two baths for men and women, which are changed daily, but one of them is a little small. Both have a view of Hachimantai from the open-air baths. There are panoramic photos and explanations, which is nice. I ate at the restaurant "Shirakaba". It is on the east side of the second floor. The venue is large, but convenient. The restaurant manager was efficient, and I never had to wait. There is unreserved seating. The south-facing restaurant seats have a sense of openness with large windows and high ceilings, and you can see Mt. Iwate and the ski slopes. Most of the seats are for two people. The north-facing seats have a view of Hachimantai. Most of the tables are for four people or more, which are suitable for families and groups. There is a food counter between them. For alcoholic drinks at dinner, you order at the counter where the dishes are lined up and carry it yourself. At dinner, roast beef and tempura (3 kinds) are served in the open kitchen. There is a free drink machine in the lounge in front of the front desk from 7:00 to around 21:00, and I was able to use cafe au lait every day. At the guide station, a slide presentation on the nature (flowers) of Hachimantai is given from 17:00. A star explanation and observation is given from 19:30. Star observation is at the slope next to the hotel. Unfortunately, trekking programs cannot be reserved. It is recommended to go early. The Hachimantai Nature Walk Bus can be boarded from the hotel entrance. Tickets can also be purchased at the front desk. We left at 10:13, did a little less than two hours of trekking and flower guiding around Hachimantai, and returned at 15:44. It was quite popular. This time we rented a car from Hanamaki Airport, but it is also possible to travel by bus.
