Our trip to Hakone was incredibly lucky, with beautiful clear weather, and staying at the Yoshike Ryokan exceeded our expectations, leaving us very satisfied. The most impressive feature of the ryokan is its vast, strolling garden. Spanning a large area, the garden is exquisitely designed with ponds, small bridges, lush trees, and moss. Strolling through the courtyard at leisure, with the sound of flowing water and abundant greenery, every step reveals a new beautiful view. The atmosphere is truly captivating, and you could easily spend a long time just exploring the garden. The view of the garden from our room was also delightful. I must give a special shout-out to a staff member with a ********* accent. Her service was gentle and incredibly patient. She was meticulous and thoughtful in her communication, diligently answering all our questions, and her demeanor was humble and courteous, adding a lot of warmth to our trip. Overall, the staff at the ryokan are of a very high standard, treating guests with kindness and grace. Many online reviews mentioned that the facilities are old, but we honestly didn't feel that way during our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the entire ryokan environment was very quiet, far from the hustle and bustle, making it perfect for relaxation. We didn't opt for the kaiseki meal at the ryokan this time, so we can't comment on it. This old ryokan perfectly captures the serene ambiance of traditional Japan. After soaking in the hot springs and strolling through the garden, both body and mind felt completely soothed. If I ever come back to Hakone, I would gladly choose to stay here again. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys peaceful gardens.

The environment is superb, and the hot springs are also great with not too many people. We booked dinner and breakfast, and the food was fresh and exquisite. The weather was lovely, and there were many unique general stores nearby.

Stunning Historical Garden: The absolute highlight is their massive traditional Japanese garden. It feels like walking through a living postcard, with beautiful ponds, lush trees, and streaming water. To our surprise, we were greeted by fireflies at night while strolling after dinner. The natural hot spring water here is top-tier. We get almost 24-hour access to the relaxing indoor and outdoor baths (rotenburo). Soaking under the stars after a long day of exploring was pure bliss. Prime Location: It is incredibly convenient—just a flat, easy 7-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. No need to haul heavy bags up steep hills. The service is warm, welcoming, and attentive. The rooms are beautifully kept, offering that authentic, peaceful ryokan vibe. Traditional Japanese Breakfast. Dinner is a multi-course, traditional Kaiseki feast served right in the restaurant, which beautifully overlooks the illuminated evening garden.

Absolutely amazing! The huge courtyard is stunning, the room is comfortable, and the service is attentive. There weren't many people, so I practically had the public hot spring all to myself. Oh, if only I could stay here for half a year or a year!

Facilities: As expected from a century-old garden, it's a truly exquisite Japanese style. The room even has a private hot spring, and it's incredibly clean! A germaphobe's dream! Hygiene: Extremely clean, and the yukata (robe) was very comfortable. Don't even get me started on the food – it was beyond amazing, with two different meals a day. The service was superb too! Environment: Very comfortable and quiet. I especially loved the garden; I imagine it would be even more beautiful during autumn when the maple leaves change. Service: Excellent! The front desk staff even remembered me by face.

The staff were so kind and attentive, which made for a really enjoyable trip. The location is also great, less than a 10-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station.

The hotel's location is excellent. The bus to Owakudani leaves right in front of the hotel. However, there was no snow, so the outdoor views from the hotel weren't particularly appealing, just mountains and bare branches. Since we didn't opt for a meal, the two futons were already laid out for us quite early.

Our stay at this ryokan was truly exceptional. From the very moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The traditional-style room was spotlessly clean, and sleeping on the futon turned out to be very comfortable. The highlight of the trip was definitely the hot springs (onsen) – the [open-air bath / private onsen] offered the perfect way to unwind after a full day of exploring Hakone. Both the kaiseki dinner and breakfast were culinary masterpieces. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Japanese atmosphere and luxury. We will definitely be back!

The hotel was very close to the train station, so it was really accessible for us especially with an infant. The hotel was very accommodating, we left something at the hotel and the hotel was very responsive and helped us get the lost item to Canada. Really appreciated the extra effort. The garden and the hot springs were all very clean and great!

The room was fine, and the service was good.

The location was amazing right when you get off from Shinjuku - the amenities are nice and the staff helpful. Just note that checkout is at 10:00AM and getting a late one requires you to pay. A bit pricey, but not in comparison to other options in Hakone.

Friendly staff, great location, spotless clean. Dinner and breakfast were great. Spa facilities are great too.
