Pinestone Resort & Conference Centre, Ascend Hotel Collection

This place is a rip off. The pictures on the website are deceiving. Stay away. Booked a room with 2 double beds. They put us in an old building at the back of the property. It looked like the maintenance shed. Gravel road. The beds were both caved in. The outside pool was empty and overgrown with weeds. I can't believe they can sleep at night renting out these horrible rooms. There is no way this is a 'resort'.

Booked a 2 bedroom villa for a golf weekend. The rooms were very spacious and the family room had a nice fireplace however, this resort needs much attention. The entrance doors in the villa need to be slammed shut or they will not lock properly. Furniture and carpets need to be replaced or cleaned. There is no cutlery or plates etc in the Kitchen. The WIFI does not work in the villa and you need to go to the main building up the road to use it there. The pool was cold and the outdoor pool is permanently closed. Overall it is very dated and tired. Not up to the standards it should be for a "resort". Very disappointing.

Staff was perfect … they are understaffed due to COVID but every single staff pitched in. Grounds are amazing, hotel/conference centre itself needs a major facelift. Rooms are old and tacky. Interior glass was dirty. New carpet, paint and updated bathrooms would make this a major destination

This resort really needs to spend some money and update. There is dirty, dirty carpet everywhere and nothing but the smell of must. Old 1970’s furniture. Don’t know how it is called a “resort”. Not worth $200 a night.

Stay was ok, unfortunately no breakfast service. Nearest coffee shop several km away.

The room is disgusting the washroom is falling apart and there is no hot water!!!!

When checking in we were very impressed with how friendly the staff was, and how clean the lobby looked. This impression changed drastically once we made it to our room. We had a room in the fairway building which is in the back of the hotel grounds and shares a muddy parking lot with lots of construction vehicles and feels quite unsafe. The room was dark and smelled musty, and when the mirror got foggy you could see writing on it from what I’m guessing was the last person who stayed in that room. The top sheets were actually just old white curtains, and the duvets were yellowed, stained and all lumpy and clumpy from use. The rooms look like they haven’t been touched since the 70’s and most things in the room are worn or falling apart. For the amount of money we paid for this room, we were very, very disappointed.

The front desk girl was nice. The hostess at the restaurant was very rude. Basically didn’t want us to order food. Said it would be long wait and rolled her eyes. Getting a password for the pool is a bit extreme ….. our room was so old and musty and had mould. The manager was nice and said he would refund. We are still waiting.

It was close to where l needed to be. Very expensive for what l got. We had to go to the office to get towels and toilet paper. One day they did not have bath towels. Main floor patio door did not lock, wasn't fixed until next day. No hot water one day.
