Nothing like the pictures...DON'T DO IT!! There is no zero to give this dump sadly. We arrived in Halifax not knowing there were four conventions at the same time. There were few rooms to be had anywhere. Three days off our timeline, the prices were vastly different than the days I searched. Today, for instance, this hotel is $130...they charged me nearly $300...but I'm pretty sure some guests rent "by the hour". The first room we were put in was ice cold and the heat would not come on. Upon telling the desk guy, he started screaming at me that I used his room and now he had to clean it. He did his best to intimidate me....women travelling alone should avoid at all costs...actually everyone should. We literally stood there unmoving for 10 minutes seeing if we could get the heat up (and tv on...that was broke too). If I were travelling on my own, this guy would have tried to bully me. While I got the manager, my husband notices that all the doors had hinges hanging on the outside (easy for others to pop them to get into your room) and crowbar marks at the door latches....all of the rooms....all of them had been broken into. We asked for our money back. He refused. He did however move us inside (again with the doors and evidence of invasion). Nice new tile...improperly installed looked a mess. Big gaps in the flooring, holes in the wall, dirty. Our bathroom taps were not attached to the sink. Breakfast was some moldy bread and a juice box. This is a very dangerous place for kids...and adults. Nice neighbourhood but shady people from the hotel doing 'business' in the parking lot on their various burner phones day and night outside the front entry and out our window. VEry loud as it is by an overpass but we knew that going in...everything else was a BIG surprise. I have stayed in all kinds of places. This was one of two where one eye was open all night. Staff did not give a flying fig about our complaints. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 10 minutes to Chateau Bedford. It was cheaper, nicer, great breakfast, great staff, and drug sale free.
