Perfect for what was required, lovely area and great food.

Tiny insecure room in an outhouse Pleasant pub with good pub food, but my room was a great disappointment. It was not in the pub but was in a single-storey outhouse the other side of the beer garden.My room was so tiny the bed only fitted in with about 2 feet around it. The "bathroom" was just a loo, a tiny basin barely big enough to wash your hands, and a squashed shower cubicle which disdpensed only luke-warm water. I had to keep my toothbrush and razor on the floor. It was insecure - a footpath, accessible from the car park, ran past the small window, which had only a broken lock, so I had to sleep with the window closed - and while it might have been acceptable as a Eastern European truckstop or an army barracks, for £108 it was a joke.

Great pub inn. This is a super pub inn in a small village not too far from the M42 and Solihull. Excellent service, good breakfast and a clean, comfortable room. I would definitely recommend a stay here. They also serve food in the evening.

a great end to my holiday A perfect end to my holiday. easy to get to from Birmingham airport and back on the motorway quickly the next morning. Friendly, clean, comfortable and excellent cooked breakfast.

Nice place, lovely staff but not really for vegans I chose this hotel for location (close to where I was going for work the next day), room price, and (importantly for me) because when I looked online there were a few vegan options on the menu shown. I added a note to the hotel on my booking form to forewarn them I am vegan and would require vegan food for dinner and breakfast. When I arrived there were no vegan options, although I was told that the vegetarian lasagne was vegan and the other option was broccoli and stilton soup … so actually the soup was not vegan due to the cheese ingredient and I had no confidence that the lasagne would genuinely be vegan either. The staff didn’t think they had posted a menu online so the existence of a sample menu for booking remains a mystery. My message to the hotel had either not arrived or not been read - I will never know. Anyway the staff were all genuinely lovely and the chef made me a vegan mushroom risotto for dinner (be warned the specials are quite pricey) and I just had to make the best of breakfast with toast and marmalade, mushrooms, tomato and beans. Overall it’s a nice little, old fashioned (and very old) pub. Rooms are reasonably priced, small but have everything you need (apart from nondairy milk for your tea/ coffee) and the bed was comfy. Quite close to the airport so noisy planes but I slept like a log regardless. Would I stay here again? Good question. I would consider it but would personally phone ahead and agree the vegan options for food and drinks.

Great place to stay. Friendly and quaint A friend recommended the White Lion to us as a great place to stay that was handy for the NEC. We enjoy real ale and they served a number of different ales - we tried 2 and they were both excellent and obviously well kept. We ate very well too. We loved the character of the place, from mismatched chairs to pretty china. The staircase to the bedrooms is very steep and our bedroom had a step down into the bathroom. It was warm and cosy and we had lovely big bath towels. We loved our stay and would be very happy to stay here again.
