Great place to stay, it’s located in the downtown of Hanoi (the old quarter), easy to get to anywhere

Silk Path is our preferred hotel whenever we visit Hanoi. From our very first stay, we have always been warmly welcomed by the friendliest staff and very impressed by their willingness when catering to our needs. Silk Path is ideally located in the old French quarter, making it very easy to explore the surrounding neighbourhood. Or, one can relax on the terrace at the front of the hotel, sipping a mojito or two, watching the activity in the street. Our room was well-appointed with the usual amenities, making it very inviting and comfortable, while the main window provided a great vista of the surrounding buildings. We highly recommend Silk Path to anyone considering a visit to Hanoi.

I had a great three days stay at this hotel. I stayed with some friends and my family joined halfway in the week. The rooms were very nice, spacious and the facilities were vast. I very much enjoyed the breakfast which was a mixture of international and Asian cuisine, with curry, eggs, sweetcorn, porridge, cereal, and fried food for breakfast. The hotel is convenient for a trip to the night market every evening, with a 15 minute walk each way. It is also close to walking distance of the lotus puppet water show and other sites to visit, such as the Hanoi flag tower. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who would like a friendly stay they felt very safe and comfortable.

The hospitality is not up to Vietnamese standards. Usually when checking into a hotel, the guest is asked to sit down and a welcome drink is brought. Usually they will ask what your plans are and how they can help. None of that happened. In fact when we checked in they could only find one of the two nights. Even though I prepaid two nights, they made me sign an irrelevant paper stating that “if my company didn’t pay, I would”. At check out, they asked if I had taken anything from the mini bar. I told the receptionist that I hadn’t but she asked me to wait a few minutes so that housekeeping could check the room!!! That has never happened to me before. I must say though that the buffet breakfast staff was very attentive and helpful. Unfortunately the reception staff is not. Now the room, we had an interior room which was very quiet. Unfortunately, the curtains did not block the lights from the I terror of the hotel which were on all night. Also the bed was uncomfortable. For as expensive as this hotel is, I expected more.
