My first room had two double beds (Rm. 148). I pulled back the covers of the first bed and saw stains that looked like blood. Plus, there was a burn hole on the sheets and a big orange spot on the pillow. The bathtub was very slow to drain. I was up to my ankles in water when taking a shower. After the first night, I requested to be put in a better room. The second room had a king size bed (Rm. 161). The TV would not change channels from the remote or TV. The refrigerator had mold/mildew in it. The microwave had food crumbs in it. The bathroom faucet leaked. I contacted the front desk and was told the handyman would not be on property until 8:00pm. At approximately 8:30pm, a man in a white undershirt knocked on my door with his dog on a leash. He tied his dog's leash to the outside door handle and left the door open. The dog promptly peed on the walkway in front of my door. The handyman, who could barely speak English, finally replaced the TV and after two trips finally found a remote control that would work. When I spoke with the manager (Brenda?) and asked about a discount because of the multiple issues, she said I already had the lowest rate possible and was not receptive to giving me a discount. In fact, she was a bit short with me and did not seem very customer service oriented. I originally made the reservation for 3 nights. However, due to the issues I encountered in BOTH rooms, I checked out after only 2 nights. I did not receive any discount. I will not stay in the Travelodge or Baymont in Harriman, TN again. I will not recommend these locations to friends or family. I am telling as many people about my poor experience at this Travelodge, as I can. The room rate may be enticing, but I'm reminded of the old adage "You get what you pay for." In this case, your not getting a lot for your money.
