Premier Inn Harrogate South

I can only assume the hotel was short-staffed when we stayed. The poor guy on the bar at 10pm was doing breakfast at 9am. I felt for him, because breakfast was a.. well, have a look at the pics. Cups? Stuff to drink? Nope. This is a breakfast-set-out-on-trestle-tables job, and it was not good. Checkin at 8pm was handled by a chap who must have taken a vow of silence, such was his absolute lack of communication. Again I presume short-staffed and exhausted. Premier Plus room had bits of fixture hanging off the wall, stuff in the bin, and a single set of towels. Paying the extra for this, was pretty disappointing. Did we sleep well? Yes. Will we stay here again? No.

Booked three rooms. One was not serviced at all by house keeping with the previous guests' rubbish on the floor, unmade bed which had been slept in and filthy bathroom. Check in took over 15 minutes and there was only 1 member of staff on duty. There was some system problem apparently. Other guests came into reception with room complaints such as no towels. Breakfast was good. Overall a dreadful hotel and I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Oh dear Premier Inn, this hotel is awful. Rooms not particularly clean, staff disinterested, restaurant very poor. It was supposed to be a Table Table but apparently they are being phased out. Instead it was a weird unbranded menu with a very shortened range of food. The place was not very busy but even so it took nearly an hour for our lacklustre food to arrive, when I mentioned this to the staff they said it was busy…..?? and only one chef was on. Staff members were in short supply and service was poor , we didn’t even try to have a cooked breakfast the next morning for fear of how long it would take to come, made do with Continental instead. Would not advise anyone to stay at this Premier Inn, if corners continue to be cut in this way Premier Inn are soon going to loose their reputation as a comfortable and reliable place to stay. Overall we were hugely disappointed with this hotel, which was not cheap to stay at. Reading other reviews we are not the only ones who feel this way either, get your act together Premier Inn…..

We stayed here twice overnight, on our way to and from Scotland. The hotel's restaurant seems to be being phased out. On our first night the evening meal was only available if you had pre-booked a meal deal. On the return trip, the restaurant was closed and only the bar was open. No draught ale: lager only. Only one chef at breakfast, so you're better off sticking to a continental breakfast. Or better still, going elsewhere.

Restaurant here is ONLY open to pre booked meal deals. This has been the case for weeks yet our confirmation email told us guests would be served as normal despite the refurb of the restaurant. We and many others could not get a meal. had to get a sandwich from local M and S

Unfortunately this is not a good review of the hotel as a family we were given a room facing a brick wall,three in room but only two towels upon arrival tea milk empty, but mainly had pre booked and paid for cooked breakfast arrived in dinning room at 8.45 after 45 minutes we enquired how much longer and was told within 10 mins after another 30 mins we enquired again and was told they didn't know what happened and would we like to re order ,we declined as now impacting our days schedule other guests told us it's happened on previous days ,complained to head office Via the email that was given to us but am still waiting for a response Harrogate and York are lovely just avoid this hotel.

Excellent Service from the Manager who checked me in and recognized my needs and did everything possible to assist. I doubt very much that he could do any more for me. Looking forward to the restaurant being fully open to cover evening meals. Thanks for the help and look forward to the next visit

We usually stay in premier inn as we find the beds really comfy, we upgraded our room which was lovely. Shame the staff at check it weren't, the reception staff was rude and the service in the restaurant was appalling we had to wait ages to be seated and even longer to order our breakfast which was terrible to say it's supposed to be unlimited was a joke, half of the food had ran out and the other half was inedible after waiting for over 45 minutes when we were already tight for time, a complete waste of money. For the price of the upgraded room and the breakfast we could have stayed at the crown plaza down the road, which is what we will do at Christmas

The restaurant was closed unless you had prepaid for dinner, which we weren't told in advance so after 3 hours of driving had to go out. Only one chef for breakfast waited over an hour half for poached egg and bacon. When it came it was hard and inedible.
