Great overnight stop at this lovely inn en route to family wedding. Cosy ground level room with outdoor sitting area, comfortable bed and excellent en-suite. Evening meal was delicious , would recommend the haddock Thermidor. Breakfast was equally good with a wide range of cooked options, plus Yoghurts, fruit d and quality cereals . All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely book again.

Ignore other venues that claim to have the ‘ best carvery in Yorkshire ‘ not only is the Chequers Inn carvery the best value around it’s also the tastiest. cannt be beaten . Starter, Main and desert for less than £25.. Excellent choice of meats and vegetables that haven’t been over cooked.

Great place to stay. Quiet location and beautiful views. Lovely hotel. Rooms comfortable and cosy. Staff very friendly and food excellent. Easy to get to places of interest within a few miles.

The food at the Chequers was excellent. We had a great meal in the bar in the evening and breakfast was top class. The room was very comfortable but we found the tv small and difficult to view from the bed near the window. There was plenty of parking and we were able to park right outside our room which was on the ground floor. There was a nice sheltered little are to sit outside the room.
It was very convenient for Harrogate and Fountains Abbey which is just up the road and well worth a visit.
Check in was quick and easy though we weren’t given any information about breakfast and WiFi etc and there was nothing in the room so had to go back and find out more after we had checked in - worth asking when you check in.
We would recommend though - especially for the food!

Stayed here for 2 nights for work. Overall was happy with the stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are above the bar/ restaurant and are like chalets. Generally clean, tidy, warm and well presented. Bed was really comfy. Only down side was the room was a bit dusty in places. I dropped something under the bed when i looked underneath I found a sock (not mine), tin foil and a bottle of aftershave. Clearly not been cleaned in a while. However, i would reocmmend and would stay again

Excellent stay, chilled atmosphere, comfortable and clean accommodation, attentive staff, good food and a lovely chilled vibe. Perfect. Highly recommended. I would definitely stay again after it turned a 2 day work course into a mini holiday!
