Appalling hygiene and cleanliness at this venue. TAKE NOTE it seems their glowing reviews of accommodation are for couples or smaller groups that stayed in their Treehouses. BE WARNED that if you are booking for a larger family, the accommodation is sub standard and the absolute worst we have ever experienced. There was mold on walls and ceiling in a very old and outdated bathroom,. The water was brown and very smelly, we had to brush our teeth with bottled water instead as we gagged otherwise. The bed sheets were marked with blood stains and dirt marks. We complained about this on our first evening, they came to change sheets, but it wasn't much better. The bath towels were also marked, very, very old towels that were faded, mismatched. Some had holes in them. There were broken plates, ants in the kitchen and in the cutlery drawer. They got into our food even if we put the food in cupboards. The window latches broke off the window frames, while we tried to close the windows one evening, so we had to sleep with an open window until this was fixed. Very hard and uncomfortable pillows, we ended up using the decorative bed cushions to sleep on instead, as they were softer, but also dirty, so we covered them with the bedsheets before laying our heads on them. Mattresses were sinking in the middle, not a comfortable night sleep at all. There was a lot of dust on blinds in lounge and kitchen, dirty couches with burn marks and holes. The WiFi was almost non existent. We were visiting from overseas, our children had homework to submit online, as they were missing school while we were in SA. They couldn't do any homework as there was such poor or non existent wifi. No decent TV channels either. We stayed at Nehema as we needed a place to sleep overnight. We had a full itinerary planned for our stay in Hartbeespoort, full days out and had a lot of luggage too, as travelling for 3 weeks with a family of 5. We arrived late the first evening and only discovered all the problems with this accommodation late at night. We couldn't find alternative accommodation online, we were reliant on WiFi as we had no data on our phones. As the WiFi at the venue was non existent, finding accommodation was impossible. We didn't check out because the effort of packing up everything and driving around to find accommodation would've been time consuming, exhausting and stressful for us, with 3 young children, so we had to just put up with the appalling conditions of this accommodation. This was by far the worst accommodation we have ever stayed at and would not recommend this to anyone. They would not compensate us, only offered us future free nights accommodation, which we're unlikely to take up as we're not visiting anytime soon. Shocking accommodation for the price we paid. We have paid less for accommodation that was spotless, clean, great locations right on the beachfront in Portugal. This accommodation was overpriced and I can't believe South Africans would pay
