I have stayed at many Country Inn and Suites and they are usually a great experience. While there were no problems, the place just felt run down and in need of refurbishment. Our room was very awkward. The hand held shower had been poorly repaired and only sprayed toward the wall of the shower for example. Maybe we just got a bad room. It wasn't very expensive and I guess you get what you pay for. The breakfast was pretty average. There was nothing terrible about the experience, but it was just far less than I expected from this chain.

When we checked into the room, noticed it was really musty smelling, when we got our shoes off, we noticed wet carpet patches that soaked our socks. We were too tired to bother with it. Booked from our ****** rewards "B Connected" account with promo code given at booking (on the phone). Got charged double because we did not provide a voucher at checkin (nor were we asked to nor was that disclosed when I called for reservation nor mentnioned on the promotional website). Called hotel for explanation...after 8 minutes of ringing, hung up and called again. After 3 minutes of ringing, someone answered and put me on hold for another 8 minutes. Employee did nothing to try to help with the charge but blame the guest for not knowing the rules and to take it up with the ****** since it's their promotion.

Staff was great, rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable, location was convenient to local entertainment. Breakfast was good with a variety of products.I will definitely stay again. Happy travels.

If you can help it walk across the street and stay at Holiday Inn. Deposit at Country Inn is $112 and there is no alarm clock in ANY of the rooms. Front desk said you can sign a clock out if you need one. Front desk was rude. Hallways haven't been vacuumed in a very long time. Pay more and receive less by staying here

No blankets for wintertime in northern Iowa. No managers on site on a Friday night. Ratty towels, old pillows, no comforter. Breakfast was to be hot, and the eggs and sausage was cold. Because we didn't have any blankets we set the thermometer to 76 degrees but the room was always cold, the heater didn't stop running but was pumping cold air into the room.

We have stayed here in the past due to its connection to Diamond Jo ******. Hotel is typical , however they did not have cookies on checkin - a disappointment. The food service in the adjoining ****** restaurant was a major letdown from previous visits. Staff was nice and service prompt but food quality was a C- at best.

When traveling the I-35 corridor, once you get south of Minneapolis, or north of Des Moines, good luck. The Country Inn at Diamond Jo ****** is quite the Oasis of East Dakota while traveling. The hotel staff has always been very helpful and accommodating. It's very quiet at this hotel, even with the bright lights and the ****** attached. The revamped Country Inn's in general are always a welcome sight for me working on the road. Always very comfortable, quiet and calm. Room TV's are great, the pool is great. It's my go-to.

Room was not clean and smelled terrible on arrival. Management then accused us of smoking in the room when we did not and charged us a $200 cleaning fee either by mistake or dishonesty. I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could. DO NOT use this hotel.

Just a hassle free time. Staff was awesome even though they had a brand new computer system to deal with. Our room was clean and the bed was so comfy. We did not have breakfast in the morning but the area had several guests.
