Roman Way Hotel

RUN AWAY!!! Absolutely the most disgusting, dirtiest place I have ever seen. I wonder how they are allowed to operate as a hotel. Dead and live bugs around, creepy crawlers, including a huge spider. I actually wondered if sleeping in the car was not a better idea. We ended up there in desperation (our reservation elsewhere was cancelled and there this was the first available place we found.) The sheets and towels were clean (thank goodness!) but that was it. No toiletries. Empty soap dispenser in the bathroom. Not even enough toilet paper to use the bathroom. I would not have believed it if I had not seen it in person.

Very disappointed smelt, cleanliness was bad mould on bathroom, tiles missing, carpet had not been hoovered dusty. For £95 a night it was a joke. False advertising said you could eat there which we was told we couldn't

The check-in was very efficient. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, as were the bar staff. The rooms have been refurbished but the addition of a fridge and safe would be welcome.

The positive Stayed in room 216 the carpet and bed was new…. The mattress great had a good sleep ….lovely white clean fresh towels…… shower lovely and hot with good pressure….. room nice and warm . The negative bathroom in need of total refurbishment……attention to detail with cleaning above height level is needed as air vent over toilet full of dust and thick dust on top of light over bathroom mirror… did not switch the light on as the cord was so dirty. No hairdryer in room did ask at reception for one but they had none….. Furniture in bedroom needs updating Beds only had one pillow provided Long walk to room from reception and all corridors in need of some TLC

They cancelled 3 days before .Said no more bookings.So poss refugee block booking.May be wrong.But ruined my wkend

Booked here because of the bar and restaurant which is part of the hotel.. as advertised on their website only to find out it’s all been shut down. So no breakfast or evening drinks etc. luckily the location is good for the beefeater over the road and Chase Gate pub both in walking distance. House keeping was virtually non-existent. Had to go twice ti reception to ask for toilet paper, tea and coffee etc. bathroom extraction was not working so the room was damp for the 4 days we were there.

Very dated and dirty rooms. Staff were excellent though and very helpful. Bar area and reception all okay

On arrival at property check in appeared normal.. On entering room the first thing noticed was the curtains which were quite literally falling off. On going to turn heating up it was cold night with snow, found not to be working. Telephoned the number given on information sheet and advised the person of the problem. When receptionist arrived she explained that the boiler had just broken.. Whether this was the case could be argued as it appeared that the radiator needed bleeding. We were taken to another room where the heating was working which seemed strange that only part of the building boiler broken. The room was cleaner and tidier looking than the original room. The bathroom stank of smoke although meant to be no smoking and there were no toiletries. Due to weather conditions no option but to stay. The following morning after checking out the pathway was not cleared and the car park was iced over. Making it dangerous underfoot and to manoeuvre car out. The hotel was informed of concerns. Originally ignoring contact until contacted by ******* and then message received saying the message will be passed to management who will respond. Nothing. I would not recommend hotel.
