I had an unforgettable night in Miyajima It's a bit far from the ferry terminal, but you can go there after looking around the shopping district They even sent me off in a shared car when I left The food was great and the view was really nice It's old, so the facilities are a bit worn out (public baths, etc.), but it was great

The hotel can provide free delivery service! Be sure to contact the hotel in advance! The hotel is also quite far from the pier, and there is a flight of stairs to get there, but because of this, the room can see the big torii! One night and two meals are good, and the hot spring private bath is also good! When you leave, you can store your luggage, and then go to the pier to play, and ask the tourist center at the pier to call the hotel and ask them to send your luggage to the pier, free of charge!

Very Good

The facilities are old, but the service was simple and good. The food was delicious and was served at the right time. Our family also enjoyed using the private open-air bath. It might be a little disappointing for those looking for sophisticated city service, but all in all it was a good inn. I would like to use it again.

應該係整個宮島觀賞大鳥居最佳位置的酒店! 酒店包早晚餐,價格性價比超高,也有接送車,退房後繼續遊覽,然後可要求酒店把行李直送直到碼頭,極之方便。

Excellent location, minutes from the Itsukushima Shrine and waterfront area. Inn is up a hill so hard to get to with luggage but a call ahead will have them pick you up at the ferry terminal in a minivan. They will also take you down after checking out. Very large traditional tatami rooms with great views of the surrounding hills or down to the water and the Shrine (costs more). More than ample room for our family of two adults and two teens. Modern building with traditional ryokan style rooms. Unlike a true ryokan your dinner and breakfast are served in the dining room but the meals are great in quality and quantity. There is public baths one of which you can book privately for 30 minutes. We took a room with in suite bath with shower which were adequate for us. The room and the inn in general are looking a bit faded but everything is well maintained and very clean. Great for a taste of the ryokan experience with modern amenities.

Miyajima was always on my bucket list. For my 3rd trip to Japan i stayed here & was so pleased with this decision. The owners will pick you up after 3pm which is worthwhile as there a some narrow, windy roads. Alternatively they will pick up your luggage from lockers at the ferry station. Booked the Sea View room which was amazing. It was so peaceful & beautiful to look at the Tori gate from the room. Service & meals were great. If you do eat the dinner recommend eating lightly before as food is plentiful. Can’t recommend this experience enough.

I have never before walked into a hotel room and refused to leave because of the view but I did at this beautiful ryokan. Jukeiso is something special, set on the hill next to the famous O-Torii gate on the island. We were met at the ferry terminal and taken through the town to the ryokan, where we were met by more wonderfully attentive staff who gave us the warmest of welcomes and insisted on taking our bags, something I always feel guilty about. While we checked in, one member of staff even cleaned the wheels of our suitcase, which I'd say goes above and beyond. We were shown up to our room and we were quite blown away. The room had windows on two sides looking on to the bay where the O-Torii gate is. The room itself was a traditional Japanese one with tatami mats in the main room and futons which were laid out for us when we went for dinner. This being Japan, there were of course all modern conveniences including charging points, adaptors, spotlessly clean facilities, a TV and small kitchen area but the main draw was the stupendous view. We were given tea and invited to settle in and I didn't move until the evening. I just sat in the window looking at the view. The ryokan is located right in the town centre, down a flight of stairs. It is also about a five minute walk from the O-Torii gate. In the evening, we went down for dinner. I am a vegan and my wife had advised them of this. In response they had made clear that they were very happy to cater for me, which they did with aplomb. We were treated to a seven course meal which, for most residents was very heavily based around fish and seafood, with some of the area's famous oysters served as a starter. I was given equivalent dishes throughout and thoroughly enjoyed them all, although we were given so much that I was unable to finish my meal. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout. My only comment on their wonderful service is that they might have helped us poor foreigners with a description of the delicious food we were served. As with many traditional guest houses in Japan, the ryokan had a communal bathing area and an outdoor onsen which could be booked for free for half an hour. My wife enjoyed this on her own as I didn't want to rush her. Beautiful yucata were provided for bathers to wear after their relaxation time. We returned to our room to find that the futons had been laid out and we spent much of the evening simply sitting at the window before going to sleep. In the morning, we were able to get up and down to the O-Torii gate before all the tourists had arrived, which was a real treat. Breakfast was once again excellent with my wife and son enjoying a traditional one which, once again, was very fish and seafood dependent. As the unadventurous type - and a vegan - I had a traditional European breakfast of tea, toast, fruit and a small salad, which was just what I wanted. We left in the morning and the wonderful staff looked after our bags, deliverin

Awesome Ryokan stay experience. From pick up to drop off, the hospitality and attention to detail are impressive. The 10 plus course dinner and an elaborate breakfast with a view are amazing. The room was large with tatami floors and en-suite toilet and shower. There are public and private onsens. The view from the room is amazing.

Terrible! This claims to be a ryokan, but it’s just a massively overpriced tourist trap. All the decor is so tired: the bathroom, toilet, shower are vintage 1960s - even avocado green sanitary! The walls are scuffed and look like they were last decorated in the 1980s. The airco/heating is dated, and makes an awful noise. The food is truly awful. To call it kaiseki is a massive insult to all the genuine kaiseki chefs who skilfully combine quality ingredients to make an appetising meal. This is average ingredients by mediocre chefs (that isn’t rescued by the ‘cosplay’ of tourists dressing-up in yukata).

This is a traditionnal japonese hotel (ryokan). We have never been to a traditionnal japonese hotel so it is tough to compare. All I can say is that our stay was very disappointing, First, there was some confusion regarding the reservation. Not clear if the issue was on my side or theirs. I had booked (or tought I had booked) room with view on the shrine and a private bath (onsen) in the room. At reception, we tried to find a solution but could not find any. So, we had no view. For the bath, there was a public one downstairs or a private one (outside) that you could reserve free of charge for 30 minutes. That 30 minutes was the highlight of our stay. We really liked it. The worst part was the room itself. I tought that we had one sitting area and one sleeping area. It turns out it is the same but converted at night. I knew that we would be sleeping on the floor but i had assumed that there would be some type of cushion. We had a very thin cushion and franckly, it felt the same as sleeping directly on the floor. Both my husband and I had very hard time sleeping and had backaches in the morning. The bathroom seem to date back 1960. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and had to be turned down. We had problems finding electrical outlets to charge our cell phones. The slippers provided to go to the bath were too small for us and quite uncomfortable. The bathrobes were ok. We had breakfast included. We chose western style. 3 possible times: 7;30, 8;00 or 8:30. it was ok. 1 egg, fruits, yogourt, toasts, apple or orange juice. One strange thing, we had a salad. I have never seen a salad at breakfast. Check out is 10:00 so, very early. Cleaning of close by rooms prevented us from sleeping in the morning, Note that the hotel is quite far from the ferry terminal and uphill. We had chosen to walk to get there. There is possibility to use a shuttle bus. We took it for return. So, not clear if my expectations were too hight or if this hotel is substandard for a Ryokan but all aI know is that our stay was very disappointing for us. We had 2 other stays planned at Ryokan elsewhere is Japan and we cancelled them. For dinner, please note that the majority of restaurants are not open for dinner as most tourists have left. Tourist information office was able to suggest some open restaurants at night.

The structure is located a little away from the heart of the island and the worst thing is that there are an infinite number of steps to get there. It was very hard to go up with the suitcases. It is a dated riokan that shows all its age despite the effort to make it clean. The room looks like a large empty room with really uncomfortable seats. During dinner they set up the futon or whatever it's called which is little higher than a gym mat. Sleeping was a nightmare, we got up full of pain but above all we just couldn't sleep even though I found more futons in the wardrobe and we made ourselves a higher bed... we were still lying almost on the floor. I don't understand the reviews that talk about how beautiful it is to sleep on the island... in the evening around 5.30/6pm everything closes and all the lights go out, life moves to the hotels which in this case have very little to offer , not even a comfortable seat for reading. The onsen is a small pool that does not offer any views, for me an experience not to be had here. The dinner is special with many small courses but we didn't like almost anything. I recommend visiting the island but in the afternoon returning to Hiroshima and taking a nice hotel in the city center.
