Kaanapali Alii

My husband and I, plus our 2 teenage sons very much enjoyed the resort, including the gym, pool, beach and beautiful accommodations. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Recommend hitting the grocery store before heading there as prices in the shop are outrageous.

Was originally booked in the Westin. But our son has Celiac's and we were concerned over food options. Wanted to be in that specific area. Found the Alii. Selected a specific room overlooking the pool and beach. Unit had been remodeled. Good to go. Arrived late. Plane delayed. Extra stop. Nightmare. Check-in was seemless. Unit was exactly what we thought it was going to be. Clean. Updated. Great views. Great room floor plan. Good sized balcony. Big master and separate laundry room off master bath. All good. The key to the whole trip because of our son was a Costco stop right by the airport and a Safeway 5 minutes from the condo. We had no worries now. Pool area was small but totally adequate. Never slammed. Always found a chair. The beach right in front of our compex not crowded either. Resort offered chairs which didn't run out. Didn't have to get down early to save them. And they had umbrellas. $60. Totally worth it. Temp there not crazy but sun is strong. We grilled every night. Think they had 6 grills. After first day we realized they had 2 grill masters. We used them the rest of the trip. $20 bucks. They did steaks, chicken and shrimp for us every night. We bought the food they just cooked it. We had the WEstin and Marriot on each side of us which we experienced. Nice places. And shopping area on other side of Westin. 5 minute walk. Outdoor mall. Nice. A few restaurants, tourist type places and good retail places like LuLu. Another 5 minutes up the beach took us to Black Rock where my boys did some cliff jumping. We also did the Hana Road trip, waterfall hike up through the bamboo Forrest, Black Sand beach and a shorkeling catamaran trip. All worth it to round out the Maui experience. So, Maui was awesome. And the Kaanapali Alii was perfect for our needs. The service was excellent. The location superb. Manicured property. Clean unit. The amenities you need. And I'm pretty sure we saved thousands vs. staying at the Westin even with the cost of buying all the food for the week. And because we bought all our own stuff we had everything we would normally eat and drink at home. Would definitely recommend the Alii.

my family has stayed here 6 times dating back to about 20 years ago stayed here back in 2020 service was poor but we brushed it off to COVID stayed here again in 2023 service was unacceptable came with another family booked a year in advance ground floor beach view for both rooms were told the owners son came and took our room and now have to stay on the 4th floor but have to pay the sam price the real kicker was another lady that was in the lobby pulled me aside and told me they said the same bs line to her so 3 different family's that I know of they pulled this bait and switch with. things were broken in the room screen fell off the patio frequently internet didn't work TV remotes didn't have batteries can't call the front office no one answers for 20k this is beyond unacceptable will never stay here again

I love that the property is right along the beach and is easy to get to. We could easily walk along the beach to get the Whaler Village shopping center, which was very convenient. The pool was decently sized and we really enjoyed that the area felt more quiet and relaxed compared to the hotels next door. The size of our room was great but a little outdated. Not a big issue for us, however.

We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids, and our family loved staying at this property. We'll be back!

Very spacious and well appointed. Easy walk to many restaurants. Very pleasant, helpful staff.
