Hotels near Ġnien tal-Kmand, Haz-Zebbug

We have been here for almost two weeks. Location is fairly close to the center and beach. It is an 18 plus hotel, which means that there are a lot of young people under 25. Our room was fine. Only the sink is very small and low. For the rest breakfast was good, but aimed at English people. Furthermore a lot of guests from England. It is a party hotel. We are not party people. So every day to the beach. Staff is very helpfull.

We arrived to find that we did not have a room. We were staying for 2 weeks as we were getting married. Easy jet had cancelled our flight from Gatwick. I informed the hotel of our change of date which I had on my phone. Can you imagine how we felt? We also had 8 rooms booked for family. After half an hour of total stressed they found our booking under Kevin Kevin!! The hotel receptionist was going to provide some Prosecco and was also asked to book 3 taxis for my self and bridesmaids on Saturday 1st October, I asked several times if he had done this he assured me that everything was booked and not to worry. Saturday came no taxis and no Prosecco. Had to book ourselves, meaning we were late for my wedding. The hotel itself is dirty, I found dried blood and holes on supposedly clean sheets, mattress was threadbear. The rooms were swept once in the time we spent here. New staff are always being trained, obviously they don’t keep them very long. The showers are small dirty and bathroom tiny. Hardly any storage facilities. You have to pay to hire a fridge. There are no facilities to iron clothes and the hairdryer smells of burning when you use. The air conditioner in the room causes everyone to have sore throats. There are no disability facilities, the stairs are narrow, there is one lift that is very small. I seriously would advise that you do not stay at this hotel

A charming, small hotel in a beautiful and unique, historic location in Mdina at the centre of the island. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our room had a great sized bedroom, leading to a bathroom suite. There was a staircase leading to a mezzanine level with sofa, and a balcony with a hot tub where we enjoyed spectacular views of the island. The doorway to the balcony was low but not a problem. The breakfast was plentiful with pristine linens and friendly staff. The trattoria restaurant was closed during our visit and we did not dine at the Michelin starred restaurant (except for breakfast). There are some highly ranked restaurants in nearby Rabat, just a short walk away, which we enjoyed visiting very much. Overall, this is a classy and quiet hotel and we felt pleased that we decided to stay. Valletta and other coastal spots are easily reachable by bus or taxi (Uber /Bolt operate too).

We booked a room with 2 beds and the Maltese balcony, for 10 nights - it was a WONDERFUL experience - even before we arrived, I had very friendly email contact with Marisa - checking details for my friend who is a bit disabled. Altogether, the room was a delight - beautifully appointed yet very historic, in the golden stonework of the Medina area. The view was wonderful, of the countryside at sunrise and through the day, and peeking down on diners on the terraces below in the evenings! The breakfasts were so generous we skipped lunch! We were blessed with hot weather so the aircon and the shower room were a real plus. But overall, the attentive and friendly staff made our stay unforgettable. Thank you to everyone. Truly felt like a family experience! Loved the local vibe of the front terrace - 'PDV' is well-known and appreciated locally! A treasure.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The hotel is so beautiful, the breakfast in the restaurant is very good, the service is first-class, and there is also an Asian restaurant. The British butlers all speak English. Great experience for traveling. The hotel has a big swimming pool. There is also an outdoor restaurant
