Kanuga Inn & Lodging

This operation is NOT ready for prime time with regular customers. This is a conference center which really caters to conference attendees. Although the breakfasts tasted good and the variety good, hotel stayers should not choose to stay here. The WI-FI is abysmal. I recommend they look at HUGHES NET because their current provider is challenging to get a consistent and clear wifi out of.

Beautiful place. Nestled in the trees. Nice lake. Rooms were spacious, some with balconies. Regretfully not our room. Beds were okay but a bit hard for me. No TV, clock or phone in room. Problem there is the wifi and data reception is nearly zero. They did have large lounge areas at end of each floor with TV and fireplace. Lovely, large balcony on each level with view of lake. Breakfast was included in our room rate. Definitely designed to enjoy the outdoors.

We are celebrating our 25 th anniversary and wife wanted to go the the pretty place chapel. This is with a hour so I booked it. There are no tvs in The rooms. No big deal. Anyways. No air in the room working. Tell them to move us. Nope. Have to call maintenance. They come and say it will work now. Nope. Go to desk and ask to be transferred to another room as it’s 86 degrees in our room. Nope. Ask for fans for the room. Nope. 4 hours later finally get. Box fan. It’s a beautiful property but customer service sucks.

Kanuga is one of the most beautiful, special places to me and spending Christmas there this year was wonderful. The Inn was festively decorated and our cabin had a live tree with white lights. We stayed in an old Kanuga cabin but you can choose to stay in the Inn or a newer guest house. The hospitality was gracious and food was delicious. The full breakfast and banquet dinner were exceptional.Meals were served buffet style so you can go when it works for you. We enjoyed hiking around the lake and to a mountain over look, but in the summer the Lake and boating etc are options. We hope to come back with our family this summer, for another Thanksgiving or Christmas, or just for a mountain get away to relax.

My daughter chose Kanuga as a gathering place for family and friends for her wedding. Although the actual ceremony was not there (it was held at the Pretty Place Chapel in SC, a breathtaking place), Kanuga was our homebase for the weekend. The staff at Kanuga were amazing and super responsive to our every needs. All of the accommodations were wonderful, from the Inn to the cabins and the guest houses! I slept at both the Inn and the Lakeview House during the course of my extended stay, and the beds were very comfortable. Actually, I had some of the best sleep in a while. We had fun activities too, from hiking, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament (the indoor gym was very clean and perfect for this event) and talent show. Unfortunately, it rained the night of the bon fire, so we had to bring it indoors with hot chocolate by the fireplace. Kanuga catered the breakfast reception as well as the evening party. The food was delicious, from chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, filet mignon, delicious salads and more. And, by the way, even the daily breakfast (included in the stay) were plentiful and delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend Kanuga and look forward to returning.

Cold....so very cold...heat didn't work in room...wasn't offered any solutions...no lock on door. Once i was in room...no way to secure door

Was very nice and seemed to be recently renovated. No amenities in room, very plain. Grounds were beautiful.

This property is gorgeous!! The rooms are clean and comfortable. I have 1 recommendation for improvement. Better signage to get to the check in area. We were lost for 15 minutes before we found it. However, if you are wanting a peaceful get away…this is your place! Would definitely stay again.

Cozy, quiet and tranquil resort retreat we love Kanuga and will definitely be back!
