The staff, food and Leisure club were excellent. The room was compacted and would not suit everyone but make sure you pick the room which suits your needs and budget. The room was clean with excellent facilities with a small TV. The breakfast, staff and the location were all perfect.

Absolutely fantastic location. The bed was comfy, but the room was a bit shabby, ceiling light missing and ceiling needed painting, bath panel hanging off, and the toilet seat was loose. We also found the bar staff to be very vacant. I was just surprised about all of the above as it is a beautiful hotel and comes across as very upmarket.

I had attempted to join this club and have now withdrawn my application. I could not see a single non-white member of this club during my 2 visits.I would not recommend ethnic minorities to attempt to join. There is a very obvious unspoken culture in this club.

Lovely staff but poor management. Our families have enjoyed many wonderful times here but it’s gone so down hill. Lots of secrecy if you try to talk about if it is truly a members owned club. Watched some young manager, very aggressively, bully customers. Ruined the day. We all left because of him.

Interesting place, bedrooms are on the smaller size happy we had a deluxe room, view of the Thames from the room is lovely as is the balcony.. Drinks on the lawn in the sunshine delightful way to spend a sunny afternoon. Great location for town and for walks along the Thames. Shame the spa and swimming facilities closed early on a Saturday and Sunday that was very unexpected and unfortunate. Breakfast was tasty and the waitress friendly. Menu not buffet style. Would certainly return..however it is certainly a club for the older generation.

What a fabulous setting! Calm, relaxed, quiet and beautiful views. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Outstanding food. We had a lovely view from our room and enjoyed watching the world go by! The hotel is obviously going through redecoration and this will make it feel exceptional. Will definitely return!

Love staying here as a single woman feel safe and a leisurely breakfast Love the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs mind you it is a big serving Love the old fashioned private club feel service is wonderful and location on the river is perfect I have stayed in a few rooms all with views of the river just love it

My experience experience was not a particular pleasant one. The room was small, cold, had stained ceilings, mould around the shower, a dripping tap. The room itself was back facing so had a pretty terrible view compared to the front facing. The female receptionist was extremely polite and helpful unlike the restaurant staff. There seems to be too many young people in suits that have inflated eggs who like to argue with you when you try to complain. The atmosphere was not great so tried to create my own source of entertainment only to be told I wasn't allowed to use my tablet. The rules for the type of place it is are way outdated and way to strict for what it actually offering. I was only staying in the hotel and was disappointed so can I only imagine what it's like to be a paying member! Some of the decor was nice, but mostly there was uneven floors, creaking floorboards, cracks in walls and stains. The carpets looked fresh from the 1930's. Overall I regret staying at this place for the money I paid and will not be returning nor will I be recommending to anybody. Yes it is a nice location set on the Thames, but that's about the only positive I can give

It’s a great location on the river Check in was friendly n helpful The service at breakfast was excessively slow as there was only one member of staff on duty sadly For the cost the room was small with a very high sided bath that was hard to climb over Water pressure too strong for the meagre panelling so the water leaked
