Clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast with no added charge, fridge and microwave near reception which I would of made use of if staying longer than 1 night. Better than what I was expecting for the price and very handy location, just 5 minutes walk from the train station

Initial impressions were good - great location (5 min walk to town centre), plenty of on-site parking and friendly greeting and check in. Room and hotel generally tired. No sound-proofing - people in room above seemed to drop shoes, bags, etc onto their floor and very thin walls so kept awake by noisy neighbours who were channel hopping tv and talking loudly over it until around 2 am. Breakfast was unappetising and bland - two keep-warm metal containers of bacon to put into burger type buns and some squashed croissants, some of which were individually packed and some open to the fly which was buzzing around.

Omg, the biggest dump ...an excuse for a hotel.. its utterly dilapidated. I actually couldn't bring myself to stay as I was on my own and the smell of **** from the carpark and the reception just sent alarm bells ringing...it was pungent, the carpark full of tradesmens vans...a doss house comes to mind. I did attempt to check in even though the place was an absolute dump, the room had a blind falling off the wall...the carpet had stains all over it and not even a bedside lamp. I just couldn't bring to stay...i booked in the carpark to stay at Hampton hilton. ******* tried to get me a refund but it fell on deaf ears. Be aware this isn't just basic, it's a shabby dilapidated dump.

The bed isn’t great but slept ok. The room is tiny no room to move no wardrobe to hang clothes or shelves to put your belongings, Going on to the t.v that a terrible no channels and the tv was just propped up on the what they call dressing table. 22 inch tv in the corner of a table bed on the other side, no curtains just a shabby blind that let the sunlight in, in the morning. We will not be staying here again. There were marks allover the windowsill & the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned.

The most horrible hotel I ever stayed in! The rudest receptionist ever encountered. Don’t even start me on cleanliness, they haven’t know what it is at all. I chose this over other hotels in the area only because breakfast was included - only if it is. You have no choice if you are a vegetarian!! On the third day of my stay they didn’t even provide cereal or a tissue on the table! Why didn’t they shut it if it’s so bankrupt???

The Abbey Lodge Hotel was our choice of stay in High Wycombe simply because of the price. To be completely honest, when we arrived I was surprised. Plenty of free parking behind the hotel, in the reception ( which is manned 24hrs) is a fridge for cold drinks, which you ask the staff for. The bottled water is £1 and varied soft drinks at £2. We were greeted by a very cheerful lady, who let us check in at 12 instead of 2, which again is surprising . Our room was a nice size, with a double bed, 2 bedside cabinets, flat screen tv , tea / coffee facility and aircon. Shower over bath with toiletries and towels supplied. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast is pretty standard of cooked or cereals and is self service in a basement dining room Located really close to the town centre but don't believe apple maps because it says a 17 minute walk, just go out the front door, turn right and 5 minutes ( at most) later, you are in town. All of the staff we encountered were lovely. All in all an excellent place to stay

upon arrival, we were greeted by a very lovely man who was willing to help with anything especially when we went out to get food and he assured us that he would be there all night, the cold drinks fridge in reception was a nice touch too. the room was mediocre at best, for a family room it was very cramped and there was a wonky, wobbly shelving unit placed right in front of the door which we walked into straight away. good selection of tea and coffee, mugs and glasses were clean. bathroom was very dated and in desperate need of a refurbishment as there was a leaky tap and a broken toilet seat. bed looked clean but smelt like chip fat so we had to spray it before going to sleep, mattress was incredibly hard and the pillows were paper thin, as were the walls. Luckily i brought earplugs with me however the other people in my room complained about how you can hear everyone’s TVs and conversations at night. the breakfast was absolutely GRIM, eggs looked like they’d been there for months and did not taste like eggs at all, bacon was rock solid and you couldn’t get a knife in it if you tried, beans and mushrooms weren’t that bad but cold by 8am since breakfast starts at 6:30am. good selection of juice and tea was good quality, toast was cheap quality however. the hotel is in a good location though and easy to get to shopping centre, pubs and the train station. moderately good value for money but would not come back

If I could give this hotel no stars, I would! Awful man on reception to start with, I just felt we were bothering him by checking in!! The room was dingy, to say the least, like a prison cell, nothing to put any clothes in, just a hook on the wall! Wanted to leave then really and we did later that evening, couldn’t face sleeping there. Give this place a miss, just keep driving!!

Again, another great stay. Staff we welcoming and talkative. Cleaners were more than helpful and flat out on a hot day. Room was a single occupation with double bed. No issues at all. Kettle was clean, cups were clean, glasses were crystal clear. The bathroom was a shower, toilet and sink. Nothing horrible. Prime location with a good price. Fourth visit now, and I will continue to use it for the foreseeable.

Difficult to summarise but the hotel is very run down and in need of modernisation. Person on reception was a bit rude I felt on arrival. My room was showing lots of signs of wear for example big crack in basin, badly chipped bath and rust around the plug hole, wear on furniture in room and else where. On arrival weeds growing in car park and up access drive, large wheely bins left out the front near the main entrance. Tattooed men hanging about the front smoking and vaping. Breakfast is in a basement room ‘restaurant’ and was buffet style. Food looked like it had been hanging around for ages. Initially no coffee left this was replenished. Certainly not worth the money paid and would not go back again.

The only real plus points are proximity to the train station / town centre and free parking. Breakfast was ok but no welcome, kids serving and no basics like tea bags, hot water or even milk to go with the selection of cereals on display! This hotel is in urgent need of a makeover. Carpets look like they’re from the 80’s and the decor in general is best described as tired. I’ve given it two stars as our room was clean at least. Thst is me being very generous as this experience was very much a 1 star offering. Dismal. Very very basic and had been given no love for what looks like about 30 years. TV kept going off so lost patience trying to use it. Walls paper thin so dont expect a good night sleep even if you’ve bought decent earplugs. Furniture old and stained, decor laughable. For the price I paid (nearly £100 for 1 night) I would not return as a Premier Inn is miles miles better. And they guarantee you a good night sleep. ****** coming in late on shouting and singing did not help the experience nor did loud people at breakfast effing and jeffing all the way through their meal without a care in the world for other guests (I had my 10 year with me) also ruined what should’ve been a pleasant experience. I know that you count account for the behaviour of other guests but…Where was the management? No senior staff anywhere on hand to tell them to show some manners either at breakfast or at night. This hotel needs serious money spending on it and some proper management to grab it by the scruff of the neck and make it a much better proposition. Very disappointing stay.

Stayed in room 45. There was stains on the sheets. You can see stains on the mattress. We found hairs on the pillows. The bathroom had mold/dirt on the ceiling. The toilet was permanently stained. The shower has a bad smell. The area around the sink wasnt clean. The bedroom had peeling paint on the walls and was visually dirty. Tried to watch TV but the signal was lost when anyone walked in the room. There's no wardrobe just four hooks with one broken coat hanger clinging on. Told the receptionist, they went to check. And thought it was a good standard. If they believe it to be in good condition then I dread to think how the rest of the hotel rooms are. The room we stayed in needed a complete refurb or a very deep clean. We left after 30 mins to a known chain of hotels for the same price we paid for this hotel. Didn't realise they wasn't on the website we booked through. The waiting area had a fridge full of open food inside and there was dirty plates and cutlery on the side.
