**BEWARE OF BED BUGS** I reserved a condo at Hilton Head Resort through Vacasa. I arrived and was locked-out for an hour, given an incorrect door code. It took them several hours to respond to our email so we could get into our rental, hours after check-in time. The first two nights my husband and I were waking up with bug bites on our ankles. I contacted Vacasa on May 18th requesting to be moved, as we found what appeared to be dead bed bugs laying all throughout our condo. I was refused the right to move, and told by the manager that I would need to stay another night until pest-control could come look. So against our wishes, we spent another night in a bug-infested condo, and woke up with more bites. Their exterminator came out on 5/19 and confirmed "THIS IS BED BUGS, and I suspect the living room sofa is infested". He tore the sofa apart looking for more and told us he would be back to treat the property FOR BED BUGS and kept apologizing. We said we would not be staying any longer for this extermination, and packed up and left, making accomodations elsewhere. We had sanitize all of our clothes and luggage. The manager, Cris, then contacted me the next day via text message denying all liability, claiming it was not bed bugs (despite what her exterminator advised my husband and I, as well as the bites on my body). This was a costly-move for us, in the middle of our anniversary weekend, disrupting our trip, causing hours to sanitize everything after we left this disgusting Vacasa rental. Vacasa accepts no responsibility, dispite the pictures of dead bugs all over their unit, the bites on our bodies, and the original exterminator's findings of infestation. WHAT A NIGHTMARE 'vacation' at the hands of Vacasa. STAY ELSEWHERE - AND STAY BED BUG FREE!
