Stayed two nights in Hinkley. Hotel is conveniently minutes from the main hwy. Restaurant workers did a great job considering how busy it was in the evening. Plenty of things to do if you're a gambler. Would recommend as price points and location had fit well with my planned trip to Duluth, an hour north.

Awful customer service and a renovation that was obviously rushed and not done properly. After checking in we needed to call the front desk to ask about pool hours and what times the restaurants were open until. The phone was dead, no dial tone. So I called the front desk using my cell phone and their toll free number. After 10 minutes of waiting and cycling through the various phone prompts I reached the front desk and explained that the phone was dead. The reply from the male working the front desk on June 20th at 9:30pm was that after the renovations a lot of the phones didn’t work and “what did I expect him to do about it”. We then went to eat and returned to the room with the kids wanting to watch tv, guess what, tv had no signal. Another call to the front desk and another statement that after the renovations some of the tv’s weren’t working. No offer to help at all. Not impressed.

The much needed renovations to the rooms are quite an improvement. However, there is a very small table in the room but no place to sit except the bed. We enjoy eating or drinking while sitting at the table. Also like to sit and look out the window. Not allowed to do either. I called the front desk after check in and was informed they couldn't bring one up. In the morning I asked housekeeping if there was a way to get one, they spoke to head housekeeper and were informed this room doesn't come with a chair. WHAT!! I have never seen any other hotel anywhere that doesn't have a chair in it. Very disappointed.

We had a hard time locating the hotel entrance. The sign stated for deliveries…. Our room carpet wasn’t the cleanest and the bedding was very cheap and sparse.. We were cold throughout the night even though I put the temperature up in the room. My recommendation would be to put better bedding on the beds. At least have it ironed.

There was no information prior to our stay that the hotel was under construction. There was no compensation for the inconvenience of the construction. There was very poor communication from the staff overall. They didn't know what was open and what wasn't. We wanted to stay for the options, but almost everything was closed during our stay and none of it was communicated beforehand. We also were woken up by construction early in the morning and had housekeepers knock on our door twice before checkout time even though we had the privacy card up. I was very disappointed overall.

Very dated. We made the best of it but the gaming was terrible. We usually go knowing we will lose, but this place doesn’t even let you play. Has the same problem 7 years ago and we thought we would make the drive and try again. No such luck. Won’t be back! We were there for a 3 day adventure, never again.
