The staff is friendly and the room is clean. It takes a long time to get hot water. Maybe the hot pot is too far away. There is a 24-hour convenience store downstairs. It is very convenient. It is very close to Ben Thanh Market and currency exchange.

Upon entering our room it was evident that it was dirty. The bed linens had a stain and the bed skirt was filthy. The windowsill had a layer of dust. The walls had questionable smears on them and under the bed was filthy. We asked for a new room. At first we were told there were none available but then two were found. We switched rooms. The rainshower head didn’t work, the floor still had hair from previous occupants and the sink still was quickly cleaned not really cleaned well. Little effort is made into cleaning rooms after each occupant. The hotel is well located but there are others in the area to stay at if you care about cleaning. It’s not hard to take pride in your work, this hotel is missing that

I wasn’t looking for anything but a restful night. I was given a room on the first floor. It’s one of the worst nights I had. Firstly. The rooms are not as described, it is not 25 sqm but smaller. As someone who stretches everyday, you can barely have space to do it. Secondly, NOISE everywhere. The bikes and traffic, lift at all times, the music from the restaurant, plates clinking from the breakfast time, people from outside talking, construction workers. The only positive was that design of the bathroom is nice.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Jovia Hotel was beyond disappointing. Here’s why I would never recommend staying here: • Non-functional phone: The phone in our room didn’t work, so every time I needed something, I had to go downstairs, which was incredibly inconvenient. • Only one elevator for 10 floors: Be prepared to wait a long time for the lift during busy periods. • Leaking sink: The bathroom sink leaked all over the countertop and onto the floor, which was a constant nuisance, I was constantly have to dry our bathroom amenities. • Dangerous shower setup: The shower is inside a plastic, wobbly bathtub, making it unsafe to stand. You’re forced to sit in the bath, which is so high that getting in and out is difficult. I felt so unsafe that I ended up using the rooftop shower to wash my hair. • Dirty towels & linens: Towels were dirty, and our bath mat had a large hole in it. Worst of all, they charge you for any marks on the towels. Fellow guests found out the hard way after water leaked everywhere, and were told they’d be fined for using the towels to clean up, towels would not have gotten dirty if the floor was clean to begin with! • Minibar stickers: They have stickers on minibar items to ensure you don’t drink anything and replace it. • Terrible breakfast: The breakfast was consistently cold. The bacon was fatty and steamed, and they only have a small two-slice toaster for everyone. No fresh milk for cereal—just carton milk. On the bright side, the eggs were good and made to order. • Fines for dirty sheets: Nearly every guest we spoke to was fined for dirty towels or sheets. We received a warning letter because of some sweat stains on the bed (they tried to tell us it was from clothes dye). They threatened to charge us $60 for new sheets! I was so anxious that I ended up laying down sarongs and using pool towels, too afraid to sleep on the actual bed. I hardly slept the last night because of the stress wondering if we’d get fined or if i might accidentally leave a mark on something. • Air conditioning issues: You only get one keycard, which controls the air conditioning. It was way too hot to take the card with us when we went out, so we had to constantly ask to be let back into the room. Privacy Invasion: What shocked me the most was when I went downstairs to ask about the alleged stains on the sheets, the staff member went through a whole series of videos recorded inside everyones rooms until she found footage showing the sheets. This is an outrageous invasion of privacy! Knowing that they’re recording things inside your room without any warning or permission is extremely disturbing and unacceptable. The Final Straw: Unfair Fines Almost everyone we met had been fined for towels or sheets. We were lucky to just get a warning, but the constant fear of being charged ruined our stay. As you’ll see from the warning letter I’m attaching to this review, sheets aren’t even changed unless they’re “dirty.” This wh

We stayed at this HCMC hotel however it had been the least favourite out of all our Vietnam hotels. There are lots of rules which seem a bit over the top. Every day you must present to the front desk to get your card reactivated which seems bizarre. If you are located on the first floor then chances are you will hear the buffet breakfast from your room. The doors are paper thin. Some rooms have a wall right next to the window preventing any natural light, some rooms don't even have a window. The buffet breakfast is small and gets quite congested with the amount of guests, especially if you are part of a tour group. They only have a 2-slice toaster so you can be waiting quite a while for your toast. Additionally, there is only one lift meaning it does take some time to get to your floor. Myself and another person in my group both had our snacks taken from our room during cleaning, apparently because they were opened and binned (they were not even half eaten). We were both super sad about this.

We had a great 4 night stay here 20th of July 2024. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was very nice. Pool a little small but did the job. Rooms, newly renovated & extremely clean. Beds were like sleeping on clouds. This place screams location. Best location, everything at your door step. We had three rooms & all three were well up to standard. Down fall, safes are not bolted down. This needs attention as I had to carry all valuables with me which was a little annoying. We will return, just hope the safe issue is rectified.

Great accomodation in the heart of district 1. We walked to Market and post office. Lots of great places to eat Room was lovely and clean. Serviced daily. Safe is not bolted to anything however. I just used my lockable suitcase. Breakfast was average not a great deal of variety and only went until 9.30am. Pool was warm and not that clean. Only 2 day beds. Great view from room. Would recommend and stay here again.

This humble property has provided me something that I do not get, even from the fanciest chain, sincerity. I’ve done the Hiltons and Ritz but what you get from Jovia is the willingness to serve. Clean, simple and of course, honesty. Do not take their sometimes abrupt one word answers for anything else except colloquial friendliness. Coupled with - value for money - fantastic location 1. walking distance 2. 24 hours store next door You’ll never go wrong with Jovia. And I applaud their effort to provide employment to the less abled, as all their housekeeping staff are hearing disabled. Thanks to the team@Jovia. You have given me the rejuvenation I was looking for in this trip. Special shoutout to the door guy (you can’t miss him, this bald chap who holds the door for you). Thank you for the kind gesture (he simply noticed that I was parched and automatically offered me a drink). The tip I gave you was a testament of the great service you gave.
