Khai Yen hostel is located in a small alley off the main through fare of Tam Coc, offering you a quiet stay in Tam Coc. There is a mini mart at the start of the alley, so you can easily get your essentials here. I got myself an Executive Suite and the room was pretty spacious. There's a bedside table with a kettle. You've also got a table where you can do some writing if you want to. The bathroom is simply furnished. You might want to bring your own toiletries though as the soap provided is a single-use soap packet. Breakfast is from 7.30am to 9.30am. You get to pick one main, one juice and one beverage. Personally I would recommend the fried noodles with vegetables, it was pretty tasty. You can also rent a bicycle for a day's use for 50K. If you need to get some laundry done, it's charged at 40K per kilogram.

Super friendly host family, very clean, spacious room, flexible and extremely helpful host who fortunately let us in in the middle of the night because we hat a night train arriving at 3.30am (!). Also a great location in Tam Coc to do daily activities from there. Would certainly come back!

We booked for 2 nights at Khai Yen, we couldn’t recommend it anymore. The family running the place are so friendly and helpful. Please stay away from the big hostels and spend your money at places like Khai Yen helping a proper family ran business. If we are ever back in Tam Coc we will definitely be staying here.

Stayed for one night could have comfortably stayed for more. Really enjoyed the cleanliness of the room, great bed. And though the shower head could do with polishing but really, nothing to complain other than that. It was a relaxing shower and the breakfast was great too. It is run by a beautiful family, Ms Yen speaks great English and extremely responsive and helpful on WhatsApp. BOOK IT WITH HER THROUGH WHATSAPP, you know how fees go for small businesses for them :) +84 94 763 00 62 Location is fantastic also, I am so glad I chose to stay with them, when you rent a bike you get to everywhere you’d want to visit just 15min away. Roads are good too. Stay with them! Thank you for Ms Yen’s husband for helping us caught up with the minivan to Hanoi that left without us at the departure point. Super nice family that respects space but is ready to interact, with well-behaved children.
