The Old Bridge Inn, Holmfirth, West Yorkshire

Stayed one night on a bed and breakfast basis as attending a gig at the Picturedrome next door. The positives- we ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent. 3 sharing dishes for £17.95. Really tasty and warm friendly service from Heidi. Breakfast the next morning was also really good. Plenty of choice of made to order cooked breakfasts served piping hot, plus toast, croissants etc. My only negative comment about the restaurant was in the evening there was a constant stream of people from outside traipsing past our table to get to the toilets. Not conducive to a relaxing meal! Not sure if the toilets could be relocated? Clean and tidy bedroom but as other people have commented really tired and in need of major refurbishment to match the downstairs areas. Very weak shower which never really got hot, no safe or fridge and no water left in the room. Very thin towels and uncomfortable pillows. Nothing the hotel could have done about it but I had a very poor night’s sleep due to loud voices outside which went on until at least 3am. I would have given 3.5 stars out of 5 but rounded up to 4 given the excellent restaurant . Also all of the staff we dealt with were very friendly.

A nice sized hotel in a pretty location in the centre of Holmfirth. Car parking and a good outdoor seating area, the hotel is right next to the Picturedrome. In July the room was very warm and there was a fan in the room.

An unexpectedly fantastic stay in Holmfirth! Comfortable room with nice little touches such as quality tea, coffee and biscuits and bath products. Staff super friendly too. The breakfast was superb. A full breakfast menu and the most delicious croissants. We will be back!!

We had a two night stay here the food and the accommodation was very good and the staff were also very helpful and friendly. There is onsite parking for a few cars but there is a long stay car park nearby in the grounds of the co op that was priced at £6 fo the day that's a bargain in its self. The pub has a well stocked bar and a good choice of food and if you fancy something different there numerous bars and restaurants well placed close by

Absolutely brill stay

The place is nice with good outdoor seating but we found one of the staff “Phil” exceptionally rude - Very very poor customer service, seemed like we were an inconvenience just for ordering a drink. He created a very sour atmosphere in the pub.

An unsure start but an excellent meal. When ordering drinks at about 1.10 p.m. I was told that I couldn't have a menu for food as it would not be served until 2.00 p.m. and it would be available nearer that time. A few minutes later I saw someone coming out with a menu and about 5 minutes after that some food was being served! We went in and found some menus and decided to place our order! Eventually, we were served with our steak and ale pie - which was superb - and caesar salad which could not have been more generously furnished with bacon and anchovies! It was an excellent meal!

We booked tickets to see a gig at the adjacent Playhouse and the hotel was recommended by my sister in law who had stayed there previously, can’t praise the hotel enough, great location for exploring Holmfirth and ideal for attending gigs, great room, we paid for the breakfast which was good, staff were welcoming and helpful, parking was limited but free.
