Woodford Bridge Country Club

I always try and book a pre Xmas stay somewhere, with my children . I came across Woodford Bridge on a booking site , and it seemed to offer great value for money so I thought why not. There are some positives and negatives which I ll list below. Arrived on a dark and gloomy Tues evening, the roads are not particularly great , potholes galore in the area. In the dark its quite scary roads too, in the middle of nowhere !! Check in was straightforward, nice friendly staff , however I found they have a tendency to talk amongst themselves and leave you waiting for too long before saying " can I help you "? Apartment was very clean , modern and warm. Incredibly happy with the size of it. Easy location to the games room for my boys, which they enjoyed very much, the pool table and table tennis. However the lighting is not great around the steps , and also the warning paint on edges of steps have worn off , so I had to be very careful walking back to apt in the dark. Used swimming facilities , nice , clean , quiet . The other facilities looked good . Went to the pub on site one night. Lovely little place , although totally devoid of atmosphere, hopefully better at weekend when live music on. They definitely need something. Prices of wine extortionate 175ml for 7.25 . I had to contact reception as the seal around the oven was coming off, did this in the morning before we went to atlantic village. On our return it was still hanging off, so had to contact reception again. Although I really liked the apt , there are a couple of improvements needed I feel. Firstly I could not find a chopping board or fish slice in the kitchen. As a single female with 2 children I also did nt feel safe as the apts can be accessed by anyone , there needs to be a key card reader on the entrance to the block , not just the apt door. Overall , it was a nice enough stay but I Don t think we d return. Probably much nicer in the Summer , and more going on in the area

A time share complex selling rooms available on an ad hoc basis. Apartment had a good kitchen, dining are, lounge, separate bedroom and bathroom. Leisure facilities excellent. Location in the middle of very scenic countryside lovely but a drive to nearest town. Room needed a refreshing coat of paint but did not impinge on our stay. Restaurant, bar and small farm shop on site at acceptable cost. Staff very helpful, efficient and friendly.

Great place and lovely location. We were very surprised by how lovely the apartment was the facilities. Great indoor pool and swimming facilities.

Really helpful staff at the park. Lovely, well equipped comfortable and clean caravan and nicely manicured grounds. Only concerns are level of chemicals in pool. Granddaughter unable to stay in pool for long as eyes stinging.

Great place to stay , highly recommended ,staff very friendly, food in the on site restaurant great .

Been here loads of times, great venue and never disappoints. Loads to do and see around the area. Play area for the kids and a great pool

Nice resort, but not a lot to do close by. You will need a car, The nearest town ls Holdsworth which has really gone downhill in recent years.

Arrived at reception to be told we have been given a free upgrade which was a result straight away. The location of our accommodation was fantastic and we had the bonus of country side views. Staff were friendly and we literally had the pool, jacuzzi and sauna to ourselves. Had a meal on our last night and it was fantastic.

Second stay at Woodford bridge. It really is a lovely place but as title says their is a but. Alot of the place just feels like it needs a little bit of TLC. The house we had was clean but things like the window frames needed painting, the sky light obviously hadn't been cleaned. As you wander around the site you can see small things that need doing. . , grounds upkeep, painting here and there, little things. Please don't get me wrong, this is not a negative review. Woodford Bridge is a great place to stay in a fantastic location to see the sights of Devon and Cornwall . And we will definitely be coming back
