When you walk into The Pigs you are greeted with a genuinely warm welcome, regardless of who sees you first or who you are. The staff treat everyone equally, which is rare these days, they are friendly, efficient and make you feel as though nothing is too much trouble. This was our second stay at The Pigs, we were lucky enough to have 2 nights this time. Everything was perfect, the room was spotless, the steam room and sauna heated up quickly, the toiletries are divine, the towels are huge, robes are snuggly and fit both of us. The heating is easy to use and the room was toasty warm. We had 4 meals, all were of an exceptional standard with generous portions and again, excellent staff serving. The buttermilk chicken with pancakes for breakfast, the black pudding scotch egg, the 'marathon' (I seriously want the recipe for that!) were all stand out dishes, and I ate so many of the little black pudding sausage rolls on the first morning I couldn't move for hours, they are pure heaven. The beds are huge and comfy with a variety of pillows. We also had a couples massage (how lucky we are!) which was the icing on a very decadent and wonderful cake. Thankfully we have a night booked in February, the night after we get married so you could call it a honeymoink (instead of a honey..moo..n, sorry, I'll stop there). The whole experience was perfect, thanks to the team and please do pass on our compliments to the kitchen staff and cleaners who you don't see but who do a fantastic job, bravo all, can't wait for February.

This was brought for my husband for his Christmas present and our 9month old puppy. We stayed in the original spa room which had a sauna, bath and outside fire pit in a private courtyard. We are here for 2 nights and used the Norfolk passport saving 10%, and the breakfast was included was unreal with all the selection. We also had a back massage in the spa which was very professional. Amazing hotel, pub, restaurant, spa but you really need to book well in advance. All staff very helpful.

We took advantage of a Norfolk Passport deal at The Pigs in September having celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary at the hotel in 2019. This time we were fortunate to have a spa suite with both sauna and steam room, plus a walk in shower and separate bath with TV. Our first stay was excellent, but this one was even better. The food was also on another level, especially the syrup sponge pudding served inside the tin. Service was first class throughout our stay.

We stayed at The Pigs in Edgefield and absolutely bloody loved it! We stayed in The Wallow, and it was just incredible—complete with a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The best part? You can blast your own music, which made it feel so personal and fun. It was such a brilliant stay, and we didn’t want to leave! As the pub is called The Pigs, the menu is very pig-focused, but there are other options available too. That said, I definitely felt like I was turning into one by the end of our stay—it was all too good to resist! If you’re looking for a unique and relaxing experience, I couldn’t recommend this place more.

I’ll start by saying this place is amazing. I booked the half day spa experience & an original spa room for my partners birthday as it was something completely different to most places. All the staff were friendly & very helpful right from the booking process to the stay itself. We started off with the spa experience, you get your own private area with Prosecco waiting. Hot tub, sauna, heated loungers & a wood burning stove, what more could you want for two hours of relaxing. It’s then time for treatments, both therapists were very professional & the room was very tranquil. It’s then into a separate room for the last 30mins to relax on the waterbeds where we were given a small sorbet & selection of teas. Then it’s down to the restaurant for a two course lunch. All I can say is the roast was amazing & the dessert table even better. We then checked into our room. I had prebooked the birthday package & a cocktail kit which my partner loved. The room itself is amazing, big wet room, huge bed, smart tv & Bluetooth speakers dotted about. You carry on through where you have your own sauna & a double bath with another tv & then into the courtyard where there is a fire pit for toasting marshmallows. We were both too full from lunch to want dinner so ordered some small bits from the menu to our room, again it was all delicious. Breakfast the next morning is served between 8 & 12 & you just turn up when you want so can even make the most of your room & have breakfast after checking out at 11. The bed was super comfy & we both had a great nights sleep. Breakfast again was fantastic, big selection of cereals, pastries, fruits & juices that you help yourself to & then a cooked breakfast from the menu. We did have some issues with ordering room service online & the WiFi for the smart tv kept dropping in & out but didn’t feel that was enough to take anything away from the amazing place & stay we had. It is expensive but well worth the money & 2hour 30 drive from Essex, never seen anywhere else offering the same facilities, with great food & level of service. We will definitely return at some point.

Nice enough experience but not special enough to want to return and didn't feel particularly relaxing or romantic. Room clean and spa facilities decent enough, food nice, staff were very welcoming and helpful. Pig themed ornaments etc slightly OTT making it tacky.

We've been to the Pigs several times but this time, for the first time, for our five-year anniversary, we stayed in the Wallow, one of the biggest and most luxurious rooms on offer. We had to book over a year in advance to be sure of the date we wanted! In this room you can check in an hour earlier than usual, at 2pm, which we took advantage of, even arriving 10 minutes early! We were very warmly welcomed and I was particularly delighted to find the Pigspa Bar, where you can help yourself to free tasters of the Pigspa products to take to your room. More on this later. Before I go into a description of the palatial space that is the Wallow, I do need to note that when we arrived we were shocked to find a man on the roof banging away at something. We called down to reception and they promised to investigate; meanwhile we spoke to the chap on the roof who said he had been told he could continue works until 3pm. He stopped straight away, in fairness, and reception called back very apologetically. It wasn't the best start, but at least it was straightened out pretty quickly! The room is just ridiculous, and I mean that in a good way. On entering, the toilet is immediately to the left, and you then walk into the spa area, featuring two sinks, sauna, steam room, rainfall shower, roll-top bath and dressing table. There is then a corridor with sofa leading through to the bedroom area, with a huge comfy bed, smart TV, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and dining table with 2 chairs. There is an outside space next to the corridor where the hot tub is located (under a glass roof so you are protected from the elements) as well as a fire pit with two wooden reclining chairs. You are provided with dressing gowns and slippers, as well as the lovely Pigspa products to use while there (bath and shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand cream). We honestly felt a bit spoilt for choice as to where to start, but began by getting the steam room and sauna warming up so we could move between them. Both were lovely. We've tried the steam rooms in the spa suites before and have been put off by finding them damp and a little smelly, but in the Wallow it was perfect. I also really love the sauna at the Pigs because you are provided with scented oils which really add to the experience and also because there is an in-sauna speaker so you can play your music in there via Bluetooth. After taking full advantage of these and cooling off in the rainfall shower inbetween times, we ordered a couple of glasses of prosecco (brought within minutes after ordering online using the QR code) and hopped into the hot tub, which is also heavenly. As the Wallow is right at the back corner of The Pigs, it feels very secluded and private. We followed up our prosecco with a pre-dinner drink - local draught lager for my partner, and a Tipsy Pig for me - which was very strong but very, very tasty. Loved the little pig sweetie on the cocktail stick! We didn't book a table for dinner
