GGuest UserVery cosy town house and excellent location! We had a pleasant stay.
GGuest UserExcellent service and very nice and friendly staff that make you feel very welcome!! Definitely recommend and the location has a very peaceful atmosphere! Can’t forget the amazing food!
尤尤丽依昂I contacted my family in advance, and came to pick me up at the waiting area on the second floor of the JR station. The location of the cabin is very quiet in the middle of the mountain, and the facilities are reasonably arranged. Although the public bathroom is shared, it does not affect the use. Sitting by the fire in winter is warm and cozy. Five-course dinner, except for the slightly salty pasta, everything else is perfect. Western breakfast is also very hard. Because of the early departure, the hostess prepared for us alone twenty minutes in advance, and the full score was well deserved.
GGuest UserIt is an inn I wanted to stay for a long time. Good location just a short walk from Takayama Station. As soon as I arrived, I received a warm hospitality from the owner, Mrs. Madoka and two children. It was only one night, but it was like a family of Takayama. The room is clean and easy to spend, and it is also happy to enjoy coffee and craft beer because it has a cafe! It was a great stay with people and people, enjoying exchange and enjoying great satisfaction. We are supporting you from now on! Thank you.
GGuest UserReally disappointing. We've booked 2 nights in a Japanese style bedroom for a couple and when we arrived the lady told us our bedroom has a problem with the bathroom so they've ”upgraded” us. However instead of a Japanese style room with futons they gave us a western style bedroom with 4 single beds. The room was boring without any Japanese style. We aren't in Japan to sleep in the same bed (and even inconfortable ones in Ouka Guesthouse) than at home. They said we are lucky because we have a big kitchen on our floor of 3 bedrooms. Yes true but we didn't mind as we didn't plan to use it at all. And the second disappointment was that on our floor there were 3 bedrooms and one of them had a big Japanese door so pretty sure it was a Japanese style bedroom. Unoccupied for 2 nights. Anyway. Worst experience we had during our trip in Japan. I would expect more than a simple ”sorry”.
SslothVery cozy stay, few private onsens to choose from included in the room price, there was no need to queue as it was empty at most times. The staff were also very friendly. The hotel does not have a restaurant but they gave a few restaurant suggestions at nearby places. Very comfortable stay overall!
NnocalfamilyMy family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys) stayed 3 nights here and wished for longer. Our quad room w/private bathroom was very spacious and had every amenity (yukata, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, hot water, tea bags, biscuits) and more. We found our traditional futon beds to be plush and comfortable for a good night's sleep. The shower (excellent water pressure/temperature), toilet and sink were modern and well appointed. AC was great. We used the onsen (women's upstairs, men's downstairs) each night around 9pm, never saw anyone. The onsen is clean and serves its purpose, but be aware it's not a huge onsen you'd find in a larger spa. We were lucky to have dinner (2000 yen, I think) and breakfast (800 yen) at the inn's dining room. Both beautifully prepared and delicious, including Hida beef (amazing!) with miso at dinner. We found the innkeeper (and chef!) to be gracious and accommodating. She greeted us warmly when we arrived, knew exactly who we were, pointed out a storage cubby for shoes and slippers for indoors. The inn is a short walk from the bus/train station, across the street from a beautiful temple, and around the corner from a street full of restaurants and shops. I'd recommend Maruaki Hida Takayama, just a half block away, but go before 6pm to avoid a long wait. All in all, we loved our stay. My advice: reserve in advance at least 1 dinner and/or breakfast--you won't regret it. Also some of the rooms don't have private bathrooms, so just know what you're booking.
GGuest UserBooked a single twin room, the room is quite satisfactory. It is inconvenient to go to the sister store to check in and store luggage, a few streets away. After booking, remember to check the hotel's email
