Harbour Grand Hotels in Hong Kong

This time I stayed at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong. Overall, it had its pros and some pretty noticeable cons. First, the good points: the hotel's location is quite convenient, very close to Fortress Hill MTR station, which makes getting around easy. Its biggest advantage has to be the Victoria Harbour view; the scenery outside the window is excellent, especially when Hong Kong lights up at night – it's really beautiful to look at. The hotel lobby also feels quite grand, typical of a traditional five-star hotel, with plenty of space. However, once inside the room, it's clear the hotel has been around for some time. The decor, furniture, carpet, and even the bathroom don't have that fresh, modern feel of newer hotels; some areas show a distinct age. If you're particularly concerned about how new or old a room is, you should set your expectations before checking in. Thankfully, the overall room space is decent for Hong Kong standards, not feeling too cramped, and I didn't encounter any obvious cleanliness issues. So, I'd say this hotel has very clear pros and cons: the view, location, and overall hotel grandeur are its strengths, but the room's hardware definitely needs an update. If the price is right and you value the Victoria Harbour view, I think it's still a good option; but if you prefer the very new, modern hotel decor, then it might not be the most suitable choice. Overall, this stay was satisfactory, but if the rooms were to be renovated in the future, the entire experience would improve significantly.

The location is quite advantageous, as Victoria Harbour is right downstairs. However, for an over 1700 a night city view room, there wasn't even a single bottle of mineral water. You had to go to the front desk to buy it, and let me tell you, the front desk service was absolutely terrible. Check-in was incredibly slow, and there was no place to sit in the lobby. Basic amenities like toothbrushes and combs were missing, and you even had to bring your own travel adapter.
