Hong Kong New York Guest House (TST Metro H Exit)

On the ground floor, there were quite a few foreigners, seemingly all exchanging currency. The hotel is located in Block B, so you need to walk further inside and take the elevator. It's quite close to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station Exit N5. Right outside the building, there's an international mall, which is convenient for shopping. However, the fan inside was quite noisy, and the air conditioning wasn't really on. The overall hygiene of the building seemed just okay. The front desk staff were very nice and showed me how to use the key card access. A thoughtful touch was that they provided an adapter, as mainland Chinese and Hong Kong sockets are different.

Excellent service. They offer luggage storage. The hotel is close to the MRT and bus stops, making transportation very convenient.

This one is a definite no-go. I chose it to save money, but it's nothing like the pictures. Seriously, do NOT stay at Chungking Mansions; it's absolutely terrifying, and only those who've stayed there will understand. The staff member was Indian and only spoke English. The room was incredibly noisy; I couldn't sleep at all without earplugs. Thankfully, there were two pillows, so I slept on my side and used the other pillow to cover my ears, which allowed me to *barely* fall asleep. The next day, my neck was aching. Looking into the windows from the stairwell, you'd think it was an incinerator if you didn't know better. Truly a nightmare experience, I can't even begin to describe it. A word of sincere advice: do NOT stay at Chungking Mansions. This is the first time in my life I've ever given a hotel a bad review, and this place absolutely deserves it.

Small but perfectly formed, it's alright. Staying here for one night to catch an early morning flight the next day is perfectly fine!

The hotel's location is excellent, right outside the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. It's on the 7th floor of Chungking Mansions, which has many Indian residents, so it's wise to keep an eye on your belongings. Shopping and transportation nearby are incredibly convenient – it's practically the center of the universe in Hong Kong!

If you don't mind run-down rooms and sanitary facilities, a bazaar on the ground floor, and a few stains on the duvet cover and blanket, then you'll have an unforgettable experience here. The location is perfect, and despite its eroding character, the building somehow still has its charm. The man at the reception is a truly kind and competent employee, who even randomly spots you downstairs in the bazaar and picks you up. The hotel is also cheap for Hong Kong standards and in a premium location. I had a good time and would come back.

If you're reading this, you're probably wondering whether or not to stay at this hostel. I stayed here for 3 nights and have no regrets. For this price, in the very city center, getting a private room, even if tiny, at a hostel price is incredibly good value. It's clean, easy to find, the bed is soft and comfortable, there's hot water, and air conditioning. I looked at a lot of options for this budget and chose this one. I hope my review helps you.
