Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel

The hotel's location is excellent; right downstairs, you'll find Harbour City shopping mall with plenty of dining options and high-end luxury stores. If you get tired of shopping, you can always pop back up to your room for a rest.

The windows were forcefully locked, and there was a very strong odor. As soon as you stepped out of the elevator, there was a stale carpet smell, and the room had a medicinal wine smell. The next day, I changed to a slightly better room, but it still had a very strong odor. The air conditioning was old and noisy; it was stuffy without it and loud with it. If it weren't for the good location and the need for reception, I definitely wouldn't stay in such an old hotel. The service was inflexible. I left my card inside, and housekeeping couldn't verify my information and open the door; I had to go down in person to verify and get the card. On the first day of check-in, there was a coffee stain on the bottom layer of the pen holder, which clearly hadn't been cleaned. They're just relying on their old age and brand to sell rooms.

Exiting from the back entrance, you're incredibly close to the night view! It's a fantastic location. However, as it's an older establishment, the bath and shower facilities feel a bit dated.

The hotel's front desk staff were very friendly, and the surrounding area was convenient. Victoria Harbour was just a few steps away.

This hotel I booked was quite close to Victoria Harbour, and right next to a large shopping mall. It's convenient for the MTR, taxis, and buses. You can walk to West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station in about twenty minutes. The hotel's luggage storage service was also very good. I paid extra to upgrade to a room with a view, and I felt it was definitely worth it.

The service and attitude were excellent. The doorman was very responsible, helping with luggage as soon as we arrived. The concierge service was spot-on; water was brought up very quickly whenever we needed it. They even sent a cake for a birthday! The two corner rooms were very spacious, and the other room had a great view. This was a wonderful surprise during our Hong Kong trip, much respect!

I checked in past 11 PM, and the front desk clerk kindly upgraded my room, perhaps seeing how tired I was. The entire hotel and city were very clean and hygienic. The room was simple yet cozy, with a great overall aesthetic that felt very stylish. It's right next to Lane Crawford, and Cartier, Zegna, Dior, Harbour City, and more are just outside the door – so convenient! Definitely recommend it. The bedding was good too, and the view from the window in the morning was lovely.

The air conditioning sounds like a tractor. The Gateway Hotel Marco Polo I booked before was a bit newer than this one. This hotel is relatively older. Out of the three Marco Polo hotels, this one is the closest for getting to Harbour City. It's the most convenient for Harbour City, and also the closest to Victoria Harbour. The bathroom is quite small here. Older buildings also tend to have more of a smell. I checked, and the original Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel was built and opened in 1969, with its last major renovation in 2011. This really is the oldest one. However, many hotels in Hong Kong are quite old.

The location is absolutely unbeatable, right inside Harbour City, on Canton Road. The lobby connects directly to Lane Crawford, and the hotel's second floor has direct access to Harbour City, which is incredibly convenient. It's about a 5-minute walk to the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Terminal. The Tsim Sha Tsui/Austin MTR stations are roughly a 10-minute walk away. This is a well-established, older 5-star hotel. The standard rooms are very spacious for Hong Kong, the bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is good. The facilities are more traditional, but they don't feel old or run down; it has the timeless quality of a classic hotel that has stood the test of time. The hotel also boasts a top-tier Italian restaurant with stunning harbor views. Not only can you enjoy authentic cuisine, but you can also take in the spectacular Victoria Harbour night scenery. I often visit the area, and this hotel offers excellent value for money. I booked two rooms for three nights each this time and was very satisfied.
