Great service and excellent location. Taking a lift can be quite challenging during the peak hours, i.e. 8-9 a.m. and 6-7 p.m.

The location was great, with the subway and bus stops very close. It was also easier to find than other budget hotels.
However, I arrived at the hotel after 10:30pm on a 9pm flight, and the front desk was closed, and I was shocked to see that check-in between 9am and 9pm had to be inquired by phone!
I contacted them via WhatsApp and a staff member came, so it was fine, but I think it's better to call if you plan to check in after 9pm.
Towels and toothbrush sets are available for a fee, and hairdryers, water servers, and refrigerators are shared and available on each floor.
It's small, but a nice place to stay.

The atmosphere is not nice, the elevator is broken, you have to walk down 1 floor, it smells of cigarette smoke, there is no key to lock the room, you can jump into the window of the room next door. The atmosphere looks scary, the bathroom smells very bad, the room is shabby, not suitable for first-timers.

Ah Shan Hostel is certainly a hidden treasure in the area.
Despite the crappy building outside, the hostel is in a class of its own.
The room was neat and tidy!
The toilet was Super Clean!
The staff and boss are nice & helpful.
Free drinking water on the side.
If you travel with 2 or 3 buddies, Ah Shan is your choice! Break the cost, it is much cheaper than staying at backpackers hostels. With a better environment.
The location is quite convenient.
Mong Kok MTR Station Exit B or D.
Check-in counter is on the 14/F.
If the door is closed, just PRESS THE DOOR BELL or call them. They all speak English and Cantonese well.
