We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner is absolutely lovely, and even though we could not communicate except through a phone translator, we managed to get everything we needed. The room is tiny, but it is organized very well, and so is reasonably comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean. The location could not be any better for Kowloon...in the heart of town. Note: it is located in Chungking Mansion along with many other budget options. It is very easy to find if you look at the address and go to the correct lift/elevator. I highly recommend this place for the budget traveler.

For the prices and the offer you can get in Hong Kong it's ok, you cannot expect lots of natural lights and big spaces. Even tho it is a clean place with a host willing to help, enough for a day to sleep, and the room is adapted for your convenience. A bit difficult to find it's kind of inside a market, I mean there are like 4 entrances to the building on the first floor or ground floor, and that floor is a market, then if you find the correct elevator following the information of the address you can take the correct elevator to arrive.

Tripdotcom tried to ammend my booking with the owner, I did not go to hongkong due to some personal issues. It's hard to negotiate with the tripdotcom and the owner of hotel. I booked this way back April due to good reviews and some people who stay that the owner is very understanding but with my situation and tripdotcom negotiation with the owner, my booking was paid without me staying to the room, I'm okay with it but nextime it's best to contact the owner directly. My only request is to change the guest name so I can just give my paid hotel booking to a friend but it didn't happen since according to tripdotcom, the owner said if I need for 2 person I need to cancel and rebooked again and she will allow full refund. I didn't agree so I just did not use my booking. Bottom line is to just contact the owner directly and not with tripdotcom. I might have chance to ammend it directly with the owner. Money was wasted that the stay was not used atleast to someone who needs it.

Probably the best option in Chunking Mansions. Block D, fifth floor. I stayed in single room 5. You can go up by elevator or stairs - the entrance to the guesthouse is located nearby. In block D, the queues for the elevator are not as long as, for example, in block A. It is clean inside, there are no cockroaches, I saw ants, but I have nothing against them. There is almost everything you need, except for towels - they are paid, 15 yuan, so take them with you. In the common area - a cooler and a kettle with hot water. They take a deposit of 50-100 yuan for the room key. The hostess is very friendly, but does not speak English at all. It is noisy at night, but bearable. Overall, a very nice place, especially considering the price.
