South Nest

This is like a student hostel. It is not a hotel in any sense. They asked for a cash deposit of HK$500 or a physical credit card deposit upon arrival. They do not accept any form of electronic payment. I don't think this is in line with the 21st century business model. The lifts are carpeted with stains and peeled paint on the sides as well as some very unpleasant smell. This was awful. Also the location is far from the central part of the Hong Kong Island. You need to take a bus to somewhere before you are connected with the MTR system. Every bus ride almost takes at least 20-30 minutes, excluding waiting and queuing time. The air-conditioner was very noisy. It was either too cold or too hot. The room is very tiny without any bedside table. It was designed for 2 people but I don't think it is practical honestly. I had to use a chair to put my small suitcase, let alone having extra space for 2 adults if both have their own lugguage. There is no wardrobe for clothes. They only provide a few hangers but they are above the kettle/tea area. Do they assume that we hang our clothes above the kettle for steaming??? Isn't it quite crazy? The distance between the TV and the edge of the bed is just about 1 foot. If you are not slim enough, you can easily hit the TV by accident, especially when you were not very careful. There is no handwash liquid for the basin. I think this is not sufficient enough to aupport the hand hygiene practice. I am sorry to say that I will not recommend this very cheap hostel to anyone.

Our second visit here... If your check-in is delayed (mine was by an hour), stay calm—staff are attentive, but sometimes busy. Light still creeps in through the blinds, so bring a sleep mask if you need total darkness (staff suggested, though personally an uncomfortable option for me). Housekeeping is helpful, but if you're not happy with your room (like I wasn't), push for a change at reception. It may take patience and persistence, but the second room was way better, though be sure to check cleanliness—my new toilet still had some stray hairs. Cooking facilities on every floor—shop locally, eat cheaply! Quick access to nearby stores and local eateries. Self-service laundry for longer stays. Cozy common area to relax and mingle.

We had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were clean and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The views were great too! Highly recommend to stay here with friends ❤️

Clean, comfortable, roomy. While the location is not near the city center, plenty of eateries and convenient stores around. Bring your own toiletries. They only provide towels and soap. Elevators can be a long wait during check out hours. All in all, it was good value.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, thanks to the incredible team. A special thank you to the front desk staff, who were exceptionally welcoming, professional, and efficient. They went above and beyond to handle every request with a smile, making me feel truly valued. The room was pristine and comfortable, but the top-notch hospitality is what makes this hotel stand out. I highly recommend this property and look forward to returning!

The rooms where clean and as describe. There is also an shared kitchen at every floor. The view is depends where youre window is quite nice in the Hong Kong streets. Only thing we didn’t like: There is no metro next to it, so you have to take the bus or a taxi.

Leakage from window due to heavy rain, staff came to check and help immediately but no room is available for exchange. Still willing to stay coz’ the environment is relatively quiet and comfortable. The most important thing is it meets my purpose of stay.

Very nice location, only a 30 minute walk from the nearest MTR station and lots of bus links, also lots of pretty birdies that you can see from the upper floor windows :3
