The service was good just the valt parking service, they take 1 hour to give me my car. I almost lost my doctor appointment for that.

Our first time here at the Marquis for the Innovations Dot / Food conference and we were up graded to a corner suite, 2303 and what a view of the city, the pool and the convention center. Our suite was clean, very roomy, comfy and very spacious. The bed was a large king and very relaxing. A large dining room table, living room area and a nice sized eat in kitchen area. We also did the M club Lounge area which was roomy, plenty of tables, with liquor and beer at night for a fee, and a great breakfast to get you going, light snacks during the day and small bites at 5:30 pm. We also did the pool and the lazy river which was shaped like the state of Texas. That was pretty cool!!! Plenty of seats, lounge chairs all over the pool deck and a large lap pool and hot tub!!! Poolside service available. Overall, very large hotel, wide long lobby, easy walk to the convention center, large pool, beautiful spa, spacious M Club lounge, valet parking, large meeting rooms, huge gym, and we dined and hung out at Biggio's, a sports bar, on the grounds of the main lobby. When Texan's say everything is BIG in Texas, they are right!!! We will be back next year for the same conference!!!

Horrendous customer service. Hotel NOT recommended at all. Manager Micaela Fresia is rude, and puts guests out on the streets close to midnight. She wouldn't let one of our arriving party guests register because of lack of a corporate ID (was in his other bag which has not arrived from the airline yet) despite him being a Lifetime Titanium Elite member with over 3,000 Marriott nights stayed and 4 million active points. She said Marriott status has no meaning at her property. She wouldn't honor the guest's room reservation (yet they honored our other guests who arrived earlier and had been given rooms already). Front desk staff were quite rude and arrogant, and clearly lack adequate training and understanding of de-escalation and customer service practices. This property exhibits no care for frequent Marriott customers who have spent decades staying at their properties. Would never even consider this hotel, and will re-evaluate our corporate preferences. Guest went next door and stayed at the Hilton, with a better experience.

Mixed bag, for sure. Long check in line, but wowed Curry who sent complimentary champagne to our room after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Check out was ridiculous. Waited in line to tell them to charge valet parking, and they told us that the valet could do so. Went outside to the valet who, of course, couldn’t charge anything and told us that only the front desk could charge. So, had to go back, stand in line, again, and tell them to charge the valet fee so that we could finally have them go get our car. Asked what we could do differently… “nothing”. Thanks, Marriott. Always great to be Titanium Elite.

Stayed here before and didn’t have any issues but this was the worse, first off there were roaches roaming all around the pool, my husband had to kill 2 cockroaches while we were sitting there, next someone stole our DoorDash order because the front desk no longer holds your food there, it’s put around the corner by the ATM where anyone can come and grab it. And THEN a hotel worker tried to come in our room saying he was “checking the key” watch was weird. The hotel manager Amanda said it wasn’t usually how they do things and was sorry for the inconvenience. So don’t stay here if any of these things would bother you.

I had an enjoyable, fun, relaxing, and friendly stay at the beautiful Houston Marriott Marquis Hotel from November 16 to 19, 2025. I came to the hotel following a week-long cruise and paid for my stay with personal out-of-pocket funds. Karen, an amicable front desk clerk who did both the check-in and check-out process for me, showed great initiative. When I checked out, she asked how I liked my stay, a question I always appreciate the staff posing to me. I had a beautiful, comfortable room with a comfortable bed, a great TV system with lots of channel selections, including Showtime and YouTube, and a great view over the gorgeous pool area, a nearby park, and beautiful apartment buildings. Housekeeping did a superb and timely job in cleaning my room every day. I value daily housekeeping service. I had delicious food and friendly service from the staff in the club room. The large, beautiful lobby, and especially the large swimming pool area – decked out at this time of the year with Christmas decorations – enhanced my experience. The lazy river pool shaped in the form of Texas boundaries uniquely sets this hotel apart. What a gem in this Marriott property! I love it!

If you stay there they will regulate you everywhere. It is like pre-school. Even when you try to enter the Pool-Area they check your private Purse. And if you have a Candy inside you have to leave it at the checkpoint. Even they stolen my newbought Dress. We left it after Room-Change at the old Room and they were not able to find it. It was new still with the Tag on it. We booked the Hotel for the Pool. We have never entered the Pool becaused at no Point we felt welcome at that Hotel. At the end of the day the three days at this hotel were a nightmare an the worst days of our vacation.
