Since I started writing reviews on Ctrip, I have never wanted to complain so much. The only good thing about this homestay is that it has a good location. It is very close to Tunxi Old Street, Liyang Old Street and Xin'an River. The other experiences are not good, mainly because the facilities are old and simple, the lighting in the room is too dim, but it is definitely not the kind that creates an atmosphere. The quilt cover has been used for a long time and there are several holes on it. The smart toilet can only automatically flush and heat the seat ring, but there is no flushing function. What must be complained about is the drainage of the bathroom. Due to the narrow place, the toilet and the bathroom are in a rectangular space with a width of only about one meter. The toilet is inside and the bathroom is outside, separated by a folding glass door in the middle. You have to go through the bathroom to go to the bathroom. The drainage of the bathroom is very slow, and the ground has become a pond. When taking a shower, you have to stop several times to wait for the water to flow down, and you have to wait for a long time each time. The water has not completely flowed out after half an hour of washing, and the bathroom inside is full of water flowing in from outside. It is really speechless. Thinking that I only stayed for one night, I didn’t ask the store to repair it. It was the worst experience and not worth the price.

Stayed here for the second time. It feels like home. The decoration is small and beautiful. The location is good. It is very close to the bus station and Tunxi Old Street and Liyang Old Street within walking distance. There is also a shopping mall nearby. The hotel also has its own parking lot and free Hanfu. Experience, rich and varied breakfast, so many advantages😘The only drawback is that the lights are a bit dim, and the music of square dancing in the park downstairs is a bit noisy when the weather is good🤭

The best thing about Laojieyuan is its transportation location, which is very convenient. It only takes a few minutes to go to Laojie, Hejie, and Zhenhai Bridge. In addition, the 21 bus from the door leads directly to the North High-speed Railway Station, which is even more convenient. The hotel is clean and hygienic, and the price-performance ratio is very high. The breakfast in the hotel is delicious and clean. A bowl of dried bamboo shoot noodles or a bowl of small wontons will start a happy day.

Floor heating warmed room up quickly.
HUGE bath tub for soaking tired muscles after Yellow mountain hike and comfortable beds. Everything in the traditional hui house seemed very new and clean. Beautiful hotel and warm-natured and helpful boss.
Very good location with plenty of restaurants and the old street stores nearby. A pizza place Amore Mio is about a ten minute walk away across the river for stone baked pizzas.

The room is clean and the bed is neat. Not far away is the old street, with many snacks, you can experience the local food culture.
In addition, Xin'an River is two streets away, the night view is super good, it is worth a slow tour.

Very novel and very Hui-style experience, the outside is antique, with the characteristics of Hui-style architecture, and there are gardens. As soon as I came into contact with it, I knew that the hotel had spent a lot of thought on this aspect. As for the problem of a bit of dampness reported by some friends, I didn't feel it at all. I also told the hotel front desk about this matter. It is estimated that there were more rainy days some time ago, so some friends did not have a very good experience. The front desk was very enthusiastic and the service attitude was very good. The hotel upgraded my room, the scenery was first-class, and the experience was first-class. It is very close to Tunxi Old Street and Liyang Old Street, and it costs 7 or 8 yuan to take a taxi. And the hotel is very considerate to prepare fruits and dehumidifying red bean soup. In short, if you want to experience the combination of classical Hui-style architecture and modern hotels, Huiman Hotel is definitely the first choice.

The location of the hotel is good. Passing by neat and tidy shops on both sides, it takes less than 1 km to walk to Liyang IN Lane and Old Street. There are many special restaurants and barbecue food stalls below/near the hotel, as well as a Pacific Shopping Center. You can often meet many tourist buses/groups in the hotel. The hotel lobby is not big, and the overall layout is a bit like a courtyard style (although there is no yard). The service is very good, and the room is large, with a large tea table, and the bed and pillow are quite comfortable to sleep on.

Perfect
NNaomiOur stay at the J. Mountain hotel was beyond our wildest dreams. I rarely leave reviews but our 3 nights here were so stunningly exceptional that we felt driven to express our gratitude and appreciation for the stellar staff, service, and beautiful setting of this hidden gem of a hotel.
The service was without exception some of the best if not the best I have ever experienced at a hotel, and I travel often, having visited over 20 countries in the last few years alone and stayed at many beautiful and well-known five-star hotels and brands. Despite being a very young hotel (having just opened in September) J. Mountain Hotel holds its own and then some. It began months before our stay when we reached out to the hotel on WeChat to ask for guidance on equipment, tickets, and transportation. As we are visiting from America the area isn’t necessarily the easiest to access or plan for. Responses were almost immediate no matter when we reached out and always went above and beyond. For instance, my mother is nearly 70 and although very active was worried about slipping and falling while hiking in icier conditions; they offered to even purchase crampons for us should we wish although they advised us we would not need them for the time of year we were here (they were right).
While here their thoughtfulness included texting us updates on and warning us about inclement weather while we were hiking around Huang Shan (there is cell service), drying and fluffing our wet gear when we returned from a particularly wet hike, and most astounding of all resolving an incredibly stressful issue we had with an upcoming flight that had been canceled (they suggested and secured alternative means of transport to a second city and then arranged for a different flight with the airline directly).
We must specifically give our thanks to Hotel Manager Ryan, who is young but clearly extremely talented and excels in his role. He not only oversaw and proactively sought to help us on every front but was responsible for resolving our flight emergency. He also clearly had directed staff to help us to their utmost ability at all times, including having breakfast and dinner ready for and served to us at the times we requested. Ryan also personally met us and gave us a tour of the hotel and its history and design, as well as accompanied us to the art gallery and an evening tea tasting held in the gorgeous tea house on the grounds. He checked in with us every day and night and made sure everything was to our liking.
Driver Wang Kai was our personal chauffer throughout the stay and was extremely courteous, professional, and attentive; he was always there to pick us up and see us off at multiple locations throughout our trip and not once were we ever allowed to wait. He even brought us hotel slippers and large down jackets to change into out of our soaking wet gear when picking us up at the end of a hike. When we said we did not think we would need some of the gear they offer their guests, we noticed he packed it in the car just in case we changed our minds and needed them later.
I could literally go on and on but wanted to make sure I left room to appreciate how beautiful the hotel itself is and how much attention to detail has gone into its design and planning; at almost every turn we discovered something that added to the ease, enjoyment, and comfort of our stay. J. Mountain Hotel, thank you for one of the best experiences we have had in many, many years.
GGuest UserThe hotel was located halfway along the mountain, so it was really worth staying to take a break for the night. The service was top notch, was served at the reception area by(艳艳) she was really friendly and helpful and would send us weather updates/sunrise/sunset timings and the chances of seeing them and also answered all my questions via WeChat. She also gave us some free local snacks for our hike down. We had the buffet dinner in the hotel and for the price, the food selection was very impressive considering we are up in the mountain and the food/drinks were all hand carried by the porters (which you will see along the way). It has the local specialties, roast duck, fish, etc. There was no air-con but they provided an air cooler so it was cool still.
Also, we went during Mid Autumn Festival and they even had a Dragon Dance in the hotel lobby and some performances (I think some were by the hotel staff). Was pretty amazing as it was rather misty and foggy that night but they still kept the mood and festivity going. Kudos to them!
Although it is a little pricey for the hotel, but it was well worth it and considering the limitations the hotel has to deal with due to its location, I was really satisfied and would highly recommend!
GGuest UserHongcun Yushan mountain scenery house is convenienly located near the South Gate of Hongcun Scenic area. We booked courtyard B which is located outside and behind the main hotel complex with breakfast included. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable, and had a small courtyard, but unfortunately no garden chairs or table to sit outside. In hindsight we woud book another room in the main complex next time. It has a lovely open garden and plenty of outdoor seating. I contacted the hotel before our stay and managed by using a voice translator to connect with the staff on Wechat. A friendly staff member met us at the entrance to the scenic area and entry is free of charge when you stay at the hotel. The hotel staff don't speak any English, but they were very helpful and friendly and we got along fine using Wechat and other translators. I won't recommend eating dinner at the hotel as there are many local Chinese restaurants in the ancient village. The hotel offers a coffee shop in the lobby and has a number of options, like Americano, Latte etc. The coffee is very good, but I felt it was a bit pricey for the cup size. The hotel breakfast is Chinese with no Western options, and it is served in unique way in a tray. I enjoyed the breakfast, but my husband would have liked more western options. On our arrival the room was already pre-heated and the beds in the room were comfortable. It was snowing lightly when we arrived and there were umbrellas available in the room. They also provide vanity items. We visited just before the Chinese New Year tourist rush at the beginning of the holiday and this was a very good location and time to visit despite the cold weather. The ancient village was not too crowded and it was nice to walk around in the evenings and daytime with the hotel is situated conveniently right next to the South lake. Drone flying is allowed which can give drone flyers an aerial view of the village. Depending on your iterinary a one night stay is sufficient to visit Hongcun and the nearby Xidi ancient village then move on to another hotel at the foot or top of the mountain or Tunxi village. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to travelers wanting a good hotel experience in Hongcun.
GGuest UserThe perfect place for an overnight trip! The room was clean and comfortable, with AC, TV, kettle, etc. — everything you might need! The staff readily provided us with a WeChat contact, offering to drive us to and from the Huangshan mountain trail entrance as well as happily providing recommendations for the local town. After being caught in the rain on the last day after we had already checked out, we were immediately accommodated to dry off in one of the rooms before our evening train. The hospitality and generosity was 10/10 and much appreciated! I have multiple friends who chose to stay at the 0517 Hotel while visiting Huangshan, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area!
LLaotanshancaixThe accommodation environment is very good. The room is large and clean. The facilities are all new. The check-in experience is particularly good. We live on the third floor. There is no elevator in the B&B. The owner is very enthusiastic to help us move our luggage. The service is super good!
The owner is very nice. The driver of the carpool from Hongcun to Tangkou did not send us to the door of the B&B. The owner came to pick us up. He also sent us to the entrance of Huangshan at 5 o'clock the next day. The boss really worked hard. The driver from Huangshan to the high-speed rail station was also contacted by the boss. He is really responsible
We had dinner at the B&B. All five dishes were delicious and the price was very affordable. I was very satisfied
The scenery in front of the B&B is very good and it looks good for taking pictures
PPaul. SGood location, not too far from Tangkou bus transfer terminal. When we arrived here, we asked a local to help us call them and they immediately sent a car to picked us up. Transport to and fro Tangkou bus terminal was free. The room was clean, facilities good, separate toilet/bathroom. Building not so new but facilities well maintained and clean. Breakfast was Chinese style buffet, simple but adequate. Service from all the staff from front desk, the boss, the driver, the restaurant staff and the cleaning lady were excellent. I stayed in 5 hotels during this trip to China and this hotel provided the best service. The driver even helped us to get a direct transfer to our subsequent Tunxi hotel, without us getting fleeced. I believe the hotel, restaurant and adjoining mini-mart are all family owned.
DDeniseLocation: Very close to the 汤口 entrance, 15 min walk to the nearest bus interchange to see the mountain.
Cleanliness and amenities: Superb as this hotel just newly opened and everything is in its prestine conditions. There is also a laundry room free for use.
Service however, was debatable. While staff were very friendly, they definitely took advantage of our lack of knowledge around the town.
1. Offering to drive us to the Emerald Valley (翡翠谷) but charging us an exorbitant price, 5 times more than what DiDi (car hailing app) was listing (only telling us the price once we got on the car, felt like they just made up the amount on a whim). The emerald valley was not an inaccessible location, but we were told that it was and therefore heeded their advice.
2. Sold us Emerald Valley entrance tickets for twice the price and told us that we were getting a discount. Fortunately, the tickets were void as it had already been used, which we got our refund back after. We then bought tickets at the entrance for half the price as we were foreigners. So now im wondering, what discount was she talking about?
3. Lastly, after facing some issues with the dryer not properly drying our clothes after waiting for 2hrs, I approached a staff for help. She was lost and confused but still trying to tell me I did not operate the machine correctly, when all she did was did exactly what i did and said that “its working, just have to wait for the dryer to heat up”. When i asked for her to elaborate on how it works, because i did the same thing and i waited for 2hrs, she just repeated the same info again. Like. If you don’t know and you can’t help just say so? Don’t act smart and be unhelpful?
Take these experiences as a pointer if you choose to stay here. Do your own proper research as much as possible so you don’t get taken advantage of like we did! Nonetheless, Huang shan is still a beautiful place, definitely worth a visit.
AAxelle CatherineGreat location, great service. We went to see the sunset and sunrise a few minutes (15-20min) from the Hotel. The staff was is extremely helpful and nice and communicated with us through WeChat. There is lunch and dinner buffet everyday. Thank you very much for the stay !
LLvDarynaIt was a pleasure stay at this hotel. I arrived at 10 o’clock in the morning in the morning and they let me check in and put my stuff in the room. The manager Xiao Li (小李) was very friendly and helpful, the added my WeChat and sent me updated weather forecasts he also marked a hiking routes on the map.
There’s everything you need there: a heater for drying your wet clothes, which is very helpful, and jackets for seeing sunrise; but there wasn’t any drinking water in the room, maybe i shouldn’t have asked for it but I didn’t.
A small gift form the hotel is two kinds of tea.
You can have a buffet dinner there for 160 per person.
SSuThis was a trip that I took my 86 years old mom to travel with me. After a long bullet train ride and shuttle ride, Banyan Tree Huangshan gave us a warm welcome by upgrading our room to a villa. The place is beautifully designed, nested in a valley with traditional Hui style building. Inside the rooms, they have the western style bedroom and bathroom comforts, but the deco is traditional Chinese arts with a modern twist, very elegant, not the tacky hotel chain style but details that fits the surrounding nature beauty. All the rooms and facilities are very clean, and service people are very nice too. We had the front desk clerk Sweet, who updated our stay and a room cleaning lady May Zhang who helped us with our needs. Very thankful to their help!
The outside garden design blends in with the surrounding mountains. They even have a petting zoo for visitors young and old.
We dined in their Chinese restaurant the first night. The foods were good but I won't say exceptional. For two of us, it was way too much in food quantity for one order. We felt bad to waste food this way. Wish they have had smaller choices. But their breakfast is very impressive.
And even though they are very close to Hong Village where the shuttle stops, they did not offer free shuttle which I think they should.
I highly recommend this place and will travel back with my other family members in the future.
