The Three Swans Hotel, Hungerford, Berkshire

A very nice hotel. The room was warm and tidy. The restaurant was good with many food to choose. Easy to find the hotel.

I have been staying at this property regularly over the past 10 years. It is time for a makeover and upgrade to the bedrooms.

Loved it allxx especially the lovely room and friendly staffxx it was the best birthday ever super food and service i would stay again

This was a one night stay we had the deluxe room this was on the second floor with two flights of stairs the second set being quite steep which my wife found a bit difficult to climb room was clean but could do with a freshen up and the window cleaned

I don’t know where to start with the frustrations I experienced with this hotel. Although the parking is handy and cheap, I had to download the App to pay. Parking is free over night starting at 6am. As the app wouldn’t let me pay in advance I had to set my alarm for 6am!! Even finding my room was a trial. All it needed was a sign at the top of the annex stairs. The sign on the door cannot be seen when it’s open. It would have saved me trips up and down stairs with my suitcase. Having travelled all day and needing a meal at 4pm and the bar supposedly serving a full menu was told I could have sandwiches or a salad. The salad I chose was not forthcoming and I was eventually told the order hadn’t been put through. About to leave, it arrived BUT it was almost inedible and very small. When I complained about the price for an awful salad I was told that ‘salads are expensive’. Grrrr! All the time this was going on 3 members of staff chatted. They all need training in the art of service. Having said all that the room was clean, comfortable and well decorated. Quite hot but there was a fan which I used. All in all I will be returning to the hotel I usually use in Newbury which is sad as Hungerford is a super town.

My wife and I, along with her sister and husband, spent four nights B and B in the Three Swans Hungerford while visiting an elderly aunt in a nearby care home. Although our bedrooms were very comfortable, my wife and I were allocated a room with wet-room facilities specifically for guests with wheelchair requirements. Although, fortunately, neither of us require the use of a wheelchair, it struck us how the wet-room was lacking wall shelving enabling guests to place their toiletries on, even though there was ample wall space for shelving. Also, the only wall hook attachment was fitted so high that a wheelchair user would have had difficulty reaching it. Overall, our stay was very pleasant, enhanced in no small way by the Hotel's breakfast menu and, in particular, the attentiveness and social skills of the young management trainee, Jolyon, who, I imagine, is destined for a great career in hospitality.

Overall the standard of the food and accommodation is excellent. This was our second stay at Three Swans and we were pleased to find it just as enjoyable as previously.
