Reception very friendly and quick. The parking card was immediately released, to one and exit as you like. The daily price for the garage of € 6.90 is probably okay. Rooms with a size of a little over 30 square meters were quite large and also clean. The bathroom was also large. Air conditioning was also available. The missing minibar we need to cool medication was well replaced by the refrigerator on the hall. Furthermore, free alcohol-free drinks could be taken from the refrigerator. Breakfast was completely OK. If a guest expects a special breakfast, then he should choose a corresponding hotel. Which I can't imagine so well under a special breakfast. Also hold special guests or so. We can recommend the hotel. In addition, who complains about the room price should look around the hotel business, then he will find that they have moved prices up everywhere. This is the case and you shouldn't let his frustration be included in the review. That's not the case for a hotel like this.

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und das Personal ist auch sehr aufmerksam. Im großen und ganzen ist die Unterkunft einladend. Nur in kleinen Details sieht man, dass noch Luft nach oben ist. Zum Beispiel das Schwimmbecken ist um einige Grad viel zu kalt. Die Matten auf den liegen sind teilweise eingerissen. Handtücher sind ausgefranzt und die Luft ist zum schneiden dick. Im Zimmer vergisst die Putzfrau hinter der Tür zu putzen im Bad und unser Zimmer war für seine Größe viel zu dunkel. Ein zweites Fenster wäre schön gewesen. Das Schickimicki Essen im Restaurant schön anzusehen, aber nichts für den Hunger. Eine gute Hausmann Küche wäre toll gewesen.

Ich hatte mich kurzfristig für diese Hotel entschieden, weil es ein Schwimmbad hat. Bei der Buchung hatte ich angegeben, dass wir auch weiter oben schlafen würden. Wir waren in der 7. Etage untergebracht. Von außen sieht es so auch wie 1992, als ich zum letzten mal da war. Innen war alles ok. Das Zimmer war klein, aber fein und sauber. Wir wollten schwimmen gehen, aber leider war erst 3 Tage später wieder ein Termin frei. Ich kann das ja nachvollziehen wegen Corona. Ich hätte es besser gefunden, wenn ich in der Erinnerungsmail vom Hotel darauf aufmerksam gemacht worden wäre, vorfristig einen Termin dort zu reservieren. Im Eventcenter im Nebengebäude gab es ein riesen Indoorspielplatz für kleine Kinder sowie Tischtennisplatten und noch einiges mehr. Zum Frühstück wurden wir in einen Nebenraum gesetzt, der auch ein Buffet hatte. Wie ich hier in den Bewertungen gelesen habe, kann ich auch nur bestätigen, dass das Hotel im Servicebereich unterbesetzt war. Unfreundlich kann ich nicht bestätigen....wir brauchten halt Geduld. Das Hotel hat sich sehr auf Urlaub mit Kindern spezialisiert.

GGuest UserWie hatten 5 Tage im Superior-Doppelzimmer gebucht, da die Fotos auf der Homepage des Hotels und die Bewertungen bei TripAdvisor vielversprechend waren. So sind wir mit großen Erwartungen angereist, leider jedoch mit gemischten Gefühlen wieder abgereist. Das Gute zuerst: Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Frühstück ließ kaum Wünsche offen, der Saunabereich ist enorm, die Betten angenehm und alles sehr sauber. Missfallen haben uns: Erst beim Einchecken verstanden wir, dass sich unser Zimmer nicht im überall abgebildeten historischen Gebäude befindet (hier sind ausschließlich Suiten), sondern im in die Jahre gekommenen Anbau aus der Nachwende-Zeit. Das Superior-Doppelzimmer (unter dem Dach, man muss Schrägen mögen) ist sehr schlicht und ärgerlicherweise unpraktisch: Der Schlafbereich ist durch den nachträglichen Einbau einer Dusche im Bad sehr klein, die Leselampen am Bett sind so montiert, dass man sich den Kopf daran stößt, die Sitzecke ungemütlich, ein Kühlschrank fehlt und im offensichtlich von den Handwerkern gestalteten und bei unserer Anreise kalten Bad gibt es nur eine minimale Ablagefläche. Im ”Vitalbereich” der Sauna vermissten wir eine Schale mit Obst. Wirklich geärgert haben wir uns über die Ganzkörpermassage. Sie erfolgte in einem übergroßen, lieblos eingerichteten und vor allem kalten Raum, wo wir trotz entsprechender Nachfrage 55 Minuten auf dem Bauch liegen mussten. Das klangvoll ”Hirtenwiese” benannte und trotzdem im anonymen Einheitsstil eingerichtete Restaurant haben wir nach zweimaligem Abendessen gemieden und uns lieber in Ilmenau, Gotha und Arnstadt die einheimische Küche schmecken lassen. Beim Frühstück hat uns gewundert, dass Milchspeisen, Käse und Säfte so kalt serviert wurden, dass man im Prinzip nichts schmeckt. Vielleicht sind das alles nur Kleinigkeiten, aber in der Summe einem Hotel mit diesem Anspruch und Preis eben doch nicht angemessen. Echte Enttäuschung hinterließ, dass die Eigentümer kein Händchen für Gestaltung haben (siehe oben). Dazu passte, dass die Eingangstreppe aktuell im Stil einer Kleingartenanlage mit billigen Betonsteinen neu gemacht wird (ortstypisch ist Porphyr), die Wiese vor dem Hotel mit zahllosen Buden vollgestellt und der neue Parkplatz komplett ohne Bäume oder sonstige Bepflanzung angelegt ist (während der einzige Wandschmuck im Zimmer ein Plakat ist, das den Gast zu ökologischem Handeln auffordert). Schade!

GGuest UserFantastic hotel, with exceptionally good food (I ate breakfast and dinner), friendly staff, generously sized rooms and convenient below-ground parking. A ironing room is available for use, and the staff were only too happy to help. The only thing missing from the bedroom was a kettle - a shame, as the restaurant stopped making hot drinks early in the evening. Will definitely stay here again!
