Overall we had a great experience. Place was clean, cute and well equipped with everything we needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in/check out was a breeze. One issue I had was the train passing and whistling every hour, day and night and that disturbed our sleep.

Room was nice, if a bit dated. They don't mention the train noise but definitely something to be aware of. Location was good for what we were doing. Was expensive in my view, but overall a good base. Staff were friendly.

This property truly has become our home away from home. The cabins are well stocked with most of what you may need for your stay. Just bring your groceries and wine!

The cabin was a bit small, but very clean and cozy. Location was wonderful for Lake Louise or Banff.

I couldn’t recommend Castle Mountain Chalets more. It is located in a wonderful setting just below Castle Mountain, with a view reminding us of Italian Alps chalets. 30mins by car to Banff and some 20mins to Lake Louise. Rooms are large and comfortable, well equipped (eg. if you want to cook for yourself, which we did) and each has a private parking at the chalet. There are complimentary BBQ facilities in a porch shared with others, very unlikely to see them both busy when you want to grill your meal. The check-in area also serves as a shop for primary necessity goods as well as a gas pump, so that you don’t need to go back to Banff if you’re westbound. You will read in other reviews that it is located close to a nearby rail crossing and trains could make some noise, but unless you are very sensible (my wife and I have a light sleep but we were never woken up by that) you will be absolutely fine. Overall we found it the best option to visit Banff National Park as it is located right in the middle of it, savibg something on commute to the main lakes as well as on gas. The staff is super friendly and will help you out should you have any question.

This is the perfect location halfway in between Banff town center and Lake Louise! Very peaceful and quiet nestled back off of the highway.

First off, I wanna say that the cabin we stayed in (cabin 6) is beautiful! Very very spacious and clean with a huge bathroom that has a corner jacuzzi tub and big shower. Yes the train tracks are right near but this did not bother me at all. They do supply ear plugs if needed. I would rate the room a 5 star. However, the staff (2 Jamaican ladies) I think that’s where they’re from. Reguardless they were very unfriendly, never smiled and in no hurry to help. We had wanted to spend another night and I had looked online to see if they had availability and it showed they had. So I walked to the office to book another night and was told by the one girl there was nothing available. Hmmm So I went back to my room and looked on my phone and it still said there was availability, so I went back to the office again and the other girl looked and said there was and she was gonna book me another night but needed her manager to ok it and she’d come let us know when it was done. So when she comes there she says that our cabin was booked but we could have #7 right beside. So fine, we said we’d take it. Next morning we get up and get ready thinking we’re gonna just pack and move over cause we just wanted to stay there for the day and relax. No one had stayed in cabin 7 the prior night. So we goto the office to find out that we’d have to checkout of cabin 6 and then wait however long it took the cleaners to clean cabin 7 as it hadn’t been done LOL!! I’m not sure if that’s normal to have cabins sitting there empty because the cleaning staff didn’t get it done before 5 pm but at 740/night and jasper shut down you’d think you’d want the cabins all cleaned so they could be rented out. And how can the sign say no vacancy when their website says otherwise!!!???? Poor staff and service doesn’t impress me and we ended up not staying a second night.
