"I was initially in a dilemma about whether to stay here or not, but looking back, it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my trip! After carefully planning the journey, getting there was actually quite straightforward. For those coming from Hohhot, here's the route I took: 1. Take a train from Hohhot to Dalate West Station. 2. Take a Didi from Dalate West Station to Huailian Tourism Resort Reception Center (about 40 minutes, around CNY50). 3. Purchase rm176 of the Whistling Dune Bay package ticket, which includes admission, cable car, Yuesha Island access, and a camel ride. 4. Resort guests have access to a special lane for the cable car, which takes about 8 minutes. 5. Upon arrival, take the resort jeep transfer to the accommodation area. 6. Enjoy activities such as sand sliding, swimming in the pool, stargazing, and simply experiencing the peaceful desert atmosphere at night. 7. After checkout, take the jeep transfer to the mini desert train, followed by the duck car ride, before returning via cable car. 8. It can be difficult to get a Didi from the resort reception area, but the staff kindly helped arrange a taxi back to Dalate West Station for around CNY50. 9. Continue the journey from Dalate West Station to Ordos. What impressed me most was the hospitality. From the WeChat communication before arrival to the reception team and resort staff, everyone was incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. The night experience was truly spectacular. The desert becomes so peaceful after sunset — all you can hear is the sound of the sand, while above you is a sky filled with countless stars and a beautiful moon. It was one of the most memorable moments of my trip. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique desert stay and unforgettable experience!"

"My expectation was meh before arriving this accommodation. However, the guys at the reception are very helpful and they also arranged a minibus to pick us up from the tourist centre. As for the conditions of our room, it is unexpectedly clean and tidy and as the sign was pointed out, it is very normal to have dust and sand appear in the room since we are at the desert. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience!"

"Our stay at the Xiangshawan Lotus Hotel was definitely the most anticipated part of our trip to Inner Mongolia. My child absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave, even saying they want to bring their younger brother back for 10 days next time, haha! Two days felt way too short. We were out and about every day, with so many activities that kept us busy until 11 PM. There's the water park on Yuesha Island and all sorts of fun attractions on Xiansha Island. Plus, there are tons of food and drink options on the islands, all our usual favorites like milk tea, snacks, KFC, Yonghe King, and more... Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by the friendly smiles of the front desk staff. They gave us a rundown of the hotel floors (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and restaurant locations. Then, a staff member helped carry our luggage directly to our room – we didn't have to worry about a thing! We could just arrive and head straight out to have fun on the first day. The hotel also thought of everything. You can call the front desk with just one touch. I called for hair ties and hairspray, and they were delivered very quickly. Thumbs up! 👍 What truly stands out is that the hotel includes three meals a day and VIP access to both islands. You don't have to wait in line for attractions, and you can grab various alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and snacks from the hotel anytime. It was truly enjoyable!"

"Located a 30-hour drive from Xiangshawan, this resort hotel offers excellent facilities, parking, and service. However, during holidays, there are numerous events, wedding celebrations, and nighttime noise, with a mix of tourists and drinkers. Guests seeking a quiet environment should choose this hotel with caution."

The light switch buttons on the bedside table were all unusable; the working buttons were all near the bathroom door, so I had to run there to turn the lights on and off every time. Previously, there were two bottles of water in the room every day, but this time there was only one."

"The Fushawan Hotel Xiangshawan is perfect for families with kids! The independent yurts, though built years ago, are still clean and comfortable. It's an all-inclusive package with three buffet meals, and you get VIP access to the scenic area, skipping the queues. They offer kids' crafts, a swimming pool, and bonfire parties. Right outside, you're in the desert, and the night sky is absolutely stunning. The staff provides excellent service, proactively asking about your needs, which is very thoughtful. For family travel, the value for money is exceptional; my child didn't want to leave!"

"I found this hotel by accident at first. After reading many people's reviews, I thought it should be good, so I booked three nights with trepidation. After arriving, I found that it is indeed very design-conscious and tasteful. The overall style is warm and gives people a very comfortable feeling. The lady at the front desk was very polite and considerate. When I came by plane, the lady at the front desk asked in advance if I needed to arrange a pick-up. After I arrived, she would also help me contact a taxi when I went out to do business. I will continue to choose this hotel next time I come."
