A temple lodge with the only natural hot spring in Koyasan and a garden designed by Mirei Shigemori.
"Definitely interesting experience. Partly tourist tradition, partly religious. As a new, atypical experience in Japan, the meal ritual and the vegetarian cuisine itself were interesting. Participation in the morning Buddhist prayer was valuable. Comfortable nice leather slippers. Saving hot springs on a rainy day.
The strict end of the day time was inconvenient for us: the front door closed at 9 pm, and we were not allowed to linger during our walk. Quiet time from 9 p.m.Baths close at 8 and 9 pm.
Thanks for the experience!🙏"

"The room was located in a stunning and truly beautiful temple. The person who welcomed us was incredibly kind and, the next morning, gave us a full tour of the temple and its different areas. The room was a bit cold in January but amazing, and the public baths were not always very convenient, but the hot onsen at the end of the day, along with the friendliness and authentic atmosphere, made the experience truly wonderful."

"For the price, this was a really average stay. The staff were average, as well as the food. The staff were friendly but they didn’t feel genuine. The Temple itself is very beautiful. The rooms are large, however the floor mattresses are completely worn out so you can actually feel the hard floor beneath you. I’ve stayed in a Ryokan before and their mattresses were still soft and comfortable so this Temples mattresses are definitely in need of an upgrade. Would I come here again? Probably not."

"Viewed as a hotel, the stay can be described as interesting and pleasant. However, anyone expecting a deeper insight into esoteric or Shingon Buddhism will be disappointed. Of course the evening/morning rituals and the vegan food are interesting and even spectacular, but hardly anything is explained and there is no opportunity for conversation or other contact with the monks. Since the journey to/from Osaka takes at least 3.5 hours, you should definitely plan on spending 2 nights in Koyasan so that you can see the sights without rushing. My impression was that the stay primarily serves to finance the temples, and not to introduce visitors to the teachings of Shingon Buddhism or the monks' way of life. I wouldn't travel to such a remote area again for this little insight."

"The resort of 8 rooms is half an hour drive from Takano Mountain and a row of cherry trees at the door!
The room is spacious, with a terrace and a small yard, you must live together, great! All the drinks and food you see in the room are free! generous, full of ritual, first pick dumplings when you enter the room 😂
Breakfast and dinner are high value, private soup and public single style are also praised, recommended!"

Great
Yyury lavrinenkoExcellent shukubo, real accommodation for pillies. Traditional Japanese style, comfortable accommodation, polite pleasant staff. Excellent Sento. Delicious vegetarian caiseki. In the yard a stylish garden and a pond with carp. In the morning, guests are invited to the Buddhist traditional procedures. Very recommended!
YYedongyunThe hotel has a parking lot, the location is good, 500 meters away from the King Kong Mountain Temple, public bathroom, fine cuisine, morning class at 6:30 in the morning, experience is still very good
JJIANGVery good, not far from the Jingangfeng Temple, dinner and breakfast for the vegetarian meal is also very delicious, half an hour of early classes, a lot of foreigners. It is important to note that dinner, morning classes and breakfast are subject to time. It must be said that the travel experience of Koyasan exceeded expectations.
