Watch for deer that regularly pass through the yard, and listen for the call of the loons from the lake.Enjoy eating around the wood- topped kitchen island, or sit by the bay windows looking toward the water. The cottage is private, but close to all the activities the island has to offer. "Downtown" Bar Harbor is about 15 minutes away, and quaint Southwest Harbor is less than 10. And we take pride in having a spotless cottage! There are two bedrooms, both with queen-size beds, plus a queen-size pull-out couch with memory foam mattress in the living area and a full size futon couch / bed in the back reading room. The reading room can be closed off for privacy. There are two full bathrooms, both with showers and tubs, one upstairs and one down. The kitchen is fully appointed, ready for family meals and gatherings! You'll find many basic kitchen staples, like standard spices, cooking oil, and storage wraps provided for you. We also stock condiments in the fridge. In the basement there's a washer and dryer for your use. Laundry detergent is provided. There's also a ping pong table, ready for those family tournaments. We, the owners, are local, living on the west side of Bar Harbor, so we're intimately familiar with the area and are ready if you have any issues or questions. We make every effort to go above and beyond for visitors to MDI. We love the island and truly enjoy sharing it with those who come to experience this fabulous national park.
