The hotel is very nice outside, but the facilities are old and not cost-effective.

The Bunchrew House was one of the best properties we stayed at during this trip. A classic B&B, sort of an upscale Fawlty Towers with an exceptional staff.  Very nice location, nestled in a wooded area beside the Moray Firth, lovely restaurant with a top-notch menu and views of the firth, amazing breakfast menu and offerings that were excellent. Very pleasant sitting room in the common areas for an after dinner drink and socializing. Our room was a little tired and really in need of some updating, the bathroom was somewhat fatigued. All in all, we recommend the Bunchrew House Hotel, due to its location, beauty, and staff, which really make it a perfect getaway.

We had stayed at Bunchrew previously and had enjoyed the experience. This time we were disappointed. The room was tired, well worn and needed a good dust. I wouldn't have given the drapes to an opportunity shop. We found it expensive for the room standard. The food was great in particular the breakfast. The view was delightful but blocked by trees from our room. Would we stay again? Only if the rooms were re-furbished.

Food outstanding and staff attentive but for £315 per night I would expect robes and slippers. Room tired and dull. £630 for two nights, I would expect more and found it, in comparison to many other hotels we have stayed in, basic. Needs an injection of colour and some treats in the room

Lovely venue, the young staff tried hard to help. However the food offered to my vegan friend was simply awful. It looked like a boring, tasteless mush of carrot and rice, a sort of yellow porridge. Why were other diners, who were eating meat, getting asparagus but it was not offered to the vegan diner? A disappointing event and will not return.

Had 7 of us stay for one night on a 2-day tour of the highlands and would highly recommend this hotel if you want something different, off the beaten path, and steeped in history and beautiful views/grounds. The staff are wonderful and make you feel at home and the restaurant is excellent. Our compliments to the chef!

Very disappointing afternoon tea. I have been here a few times with friends and a lunch club that I run. It was beautiful food, beetroot rolls filled with salmon. Other rolls, homemade sausage rolls, are all very tasty. This time..... quarter cheese ham tin toastie, wht bread with egg mayo or cheese and pickle on boring brown bread. Oh, and you only got half a slice of each!!! Sm cakes, nice but no wow factor. No nessie or swans. There was plenty of tea or coffee. Surrounding and building beautiful. We were there after a funeral, and for £25 per person for boiled egg and cheese on plain bread! we were all left hungry. What a letdown.

Excellent location, on the shores of Beauly Firth, with a huge expanse of gardens and woodlands to walk around in. But the overall decor inside was a bit old and tired looking. We came across just a couple of staff managing all centres. The bar was dark and dimly lit. The whole atmosphere seemed a bit regimental and harsh. And in need of an upgrade. On the plus side, the room was very nice. But the bathroom requires sprucing up. The sofa cushions were absolutely shrunk. But there was fresh milk in the refrigerator. And they can definitely do much better on the waterfront maintenance, which can be made into a very attractive place for hanging around. The food choices were limited but the cooking was excellent and we were very happy with the quality and presentation. The breakfast was great.
