Royal Motel

We checked in and were greeted by a friendly person. We waited as he registered another person in. He said all his rooms are $99 except when you have a pet. A pet room is an additional $20 a night. The people agreed and were registered in. When my turn came he said it was $105 a night. I told him that his website said $99 and he said that was for a room with a double bed. Because I wanted a queen bed those rooms are $105. When I opened the door there was not a queen. There were two beds but one was a double and one was a single. Surely he knows the difference and what he has for inventory. The room was definitely a worn 1970’s original room but at least it was clean. The air conditioner could not keep up even on a cooler summer night. The towels were nice. After driving 9 hours and having to drive another 9 today I do not feel rested. Don’t get much for $100 these days. Expect little and you won’t be disappointed.

The gentleman at the desk was very nice. Check in area is a mess. I think his living quarters is behind the desk. Didn’t look too clean. Very old building. Carpet in the room is stained. Every time I turned over in the bed I got a whiff of something not pleasant. Price is by far too high for this place. Only good thing I can say is that it did have hot water.

This is a small, very reasonably priced, family owned hotel with many of the amenities of the larger hotel chains. The room included 2 beds, a table and chairs, a big screen TV, refrigerator w/freezer, WI-FI, a bathroom with shower, and parking right outside the door. The owner was kind and informative about area businesses and tourist sites. I’d stay here again.

This motel is older but very clean. The gentleman who runs the motel is very friendly. We messed up the TV channels and he came right away to fix it for us. The motel is close to everything you would need. As I said it is older but they have everything you need and the price is good.

The Royal was exactly what I needed: a place to stay on a long drive at a good value. Friendly staff, very clean room, a good bed, and a hot shower in the morning. Sure, the tile in the bathroom is dated and the microwave in the room is small, but I didn’t see a spec of dirt anywhere.

Cute, simple, affordable.

The price was good, the room was clean, water pressure and hot water low. This would be good for one couple or two men. A bit crowded for two couples

Owners are crazy friendly. Old decor but gets the job done if just sleeping there. We will be back.

The staff at the hotel was good. Everything else screamed beg bugs and neglect. Additionally, it’s next to a rest area and that didn’t feel very safe.
