Ishinomaki Grand Hotel Reviews

Hotel is quite close to JR with a number of restaurant. The hotel survived through the 311 earthquake and provide clear instructions for evacuation. The staff is nice.

nice place to stay

The central port of Gathering Ishinomaki is very close. It was comfortable to stay the day before going to Cat Island and set off the next day. However, the walls are a bit thin, so if you don’t sleep well, it’s best to wear earplugs.

If you are staying in Ishinomaki, this hotel is good! I stayed there because it was recommended to me. The room was clean and reasonably good. However, it was a hot day, so I tried to turn on the air conditioner, but there was no air conditioning function! I was a little surprised by this! When I contacted the front desk, they said, ``I'm sorry, but please open the window.''

The price is cheap, but it is still a good hotel. There are Italian, French, Japanese and Chinese food downstairs, all of which are delicious. There was an earthquake on the last morning, and the front desk assured me that it was okay.

It's quite satisfactory. The transportation is quite convenient. It's relatively close to the JR station. The facilities are relatively old. The soundproofing of the hotel needs to be improved. I heard a loud snoring sound from the room next door when I was sleeping🤣

Wifi is not good

It was good.

For me the rating is good rather than very good but there is no category for this and it is better than the lower average rating. The lobby is quite grand with a beautiful kimono on display and check in was swift. The rooms are a good size. Bathroom is small but good shower pressure and lots of hot water. Good selection of complimentary toiletries etc. Twin beds, comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Free WiFi available, it took me a while to connect and once done was fine.

I stayed here on a solo motorcycle trip for the first time in a while. I was able to park my motorcycle next to the entrance where I didn't have to worry about rain. In addition, the rice and miso soup for breakfast were served by staff, and they took thorough measures against COVID-19. There was also a wedding hall on-site, so it was a great hotel but I was able to stay there reasonably. The location was convenient, so I was able to walk around the city to see the bronze statues of Shotaro Ishinomori's anime characters. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.

The unit bath was new and comfortable to use. The breakfast was also very satisfying, with fresh salads and sasa-kamaboko fish cakes. I was a bit confused by the businessmen eating in a hurry, but it can't be helped since it's not a resort. The walls in the room are thin, so the sound of the door opening and closing and the toilet echoing. The amenities were sufficient, but the room clothes smelled damp. It's convenient and easy to access Ishinomaki Station and the ferry terminal to Tashirojima, but I wish there was a sign on the small road leading into the hotel from the main road. I also wish the hotel name was visible from all sides. It was hard to find at first. You can exit from the back and there's a convenience store nearby. One bottle of high-quality mineral water is included, but I would have liked two free regular plastic bottles.
