This was my first experience in a tented accommodation so it was an adjustment. Despite all the advance warnings, I never saw a mosquito either here or at subsequent stops in Kenya. That was good! This place turned off the power several hours in the afternoon and overnight, which was disruptive to my sleep because it was hot and the fan would cut off when the power did. Also there was no WiFi in the rooms, just in the common area, which they didn’t encourage people to linger at after they were finished with meal service. The food was so-so, with breakfast particularly unsatisfying.

I got to Samburu Intrepids at a time when I had a small accident and was using crutches. Talk about being spoilt by the staff. There was a wheelchair and a ramp to allow moment to my room and dining area respectively. I felt spoilt. Hussein, Mwalimu did not stop coming through to push me to dining area and other places. Their manager Boniface was always readily picking my call so that I move to the next area. The sumptuous meal and the different soups for dinner that I always looked forward to and added to my recovery. The exemplary service by Team Cleo - Annastacia, Victor, Lawrence, and Jennerica. I will never forget you all. I am coming back soon.

We loved staying here so much! The staff could not have been better - especially Masila. It was hard to leave. The food was outstanding and every staff member took excellent care of us. It was the final stop on our African trip and it was the perfect way to end. We were so well taken care of.

From the moment we arrived the manager and the staff we encountered were most helpful and attentive. The manager was most concerned that the raised toilet seat they had provided was adequate (actually excellent) In the restaurant Anastazia had been instructed to help carry my plate when there was a buffet at breakfast and lunch. In the evening Steven gave an illustrated talk on the wildlife of Samburu which was very interesting. Unfortunately we had only booked a two night stay. Would love to return one day

At 2 p.m. when the temperature reaches 37 C we get to Samburu Intrepids Camp and because we know this Camp, so without asking too many questions, we start with lunch. There is a choice of onion soup, vegetable soup, lamb or fish, vegetables and we of course take Tusker. We stay at tent No 10 facing the river like all other tents . Rather disappointingly the water is cold (and I don’t mean the river) and Wi-Fi at the reception only. The tent is very clean with a big bed in the middle and a bathroom en suite, terrace with two chairs. Not very inspiring and you can hear people from a neighbouring tent arguing. So ZERO privacy. The paths are even but the lamps along are at the wrong height and provide very poor illumination. For dinner: pumpkin soup, pork (soft) , mashed potatoes, sorbet and fruit. The camp generator noise is rather loud so try getting a tent as far as possible from it if you want to rest in peace (no pun intended) And remember, in the early morning 3 - 4 a.m. it gets cold so have a duvet ready.

We came for 2 days and HAD to extend our stay because everyone was enjoying themselves so much. Obviously the safari was fantastic with a great guide - Jelly - who made sure we had a once in a lifetime experience every time we went out with him, quite a feat! But the reason why we will be back, and which makes the 6 hour drive to get there manageable, were how generous and friendly the staff were. Making sure that everything was easy, going out of their way to help us - particularly with entertaining the kids. Special thanks must go to Cleo, Anastasia, Victor, Boniface, Silas, Hussain, Mike, Tony, Laurence, and countless others who showed the kids how to use a catapult, made bracelets with them, cleaned our car, found lost toys, helped carry bags, played Uno with us, and showed us the way back to our tent at night. Thank you all so much for a fantastic trip. And on the way out we've just seen 3 lions!

Wonderful stay inside Samburu Park. We absolutely loved the location and the comfortable beds. Liz the masseuse was amazing. But you may consider building her a massage hut by the river so the guests have a beautiful view while getting a massage. Anastasia was absolutely a pleasure and anticipated our every wish. The morning wake up call with coffee and cookies was promptly served by Abraham. And we really enjoyed the Samburu flutist at breakfast and lunch. Very nice touch. The only complaint was maybe leave a little electricity between midnight and 5 am.it was stifling hot when the fan turned off.
