We just returned from this hotel, which the tour operator mistakenly put us in, confusing it with Orient Express 4*, but that’s another story, so this is only about this Orient 3*. Let's start with the positives - the staff is very responsive, friendly, thank you for everything, they at least brightened up our stay in this “miracle” a little, and the second plus is Wi-Fi, in 11 days there were not a single complaints about the work. Further disadvantages: Location - Cherkizovsky market, noise, din, dirt, criminal-looking individuals on the streets, walking in the evening is dangerous. (Familiar Istanbul residents confirmed that Laleli is the creepiest district, but again, we were put there by mistake, we did not choose it). The rooms are old, tiny, in the bathroom there is a push when opening the door, there are no shower heads, only a tropical shower at a height of two meters. There are no closers on the doors, the slamming on the entire floor is endless from day to night, both from the draft and from the stupidity of the residents. The furniture is ancient and dirty, the refrigerators stink, by the way, we were moved from one room to another due to a non-working TV and other problems, and in the second room the refrigerator did not work, they dragged us a refrigerator from another room, but there were no shelves in it, stupid a square box with a cooling effect, put food there as you wish, we had one curtain on the window, which of course could not cover it from the sun, the central air conditioner did not cool or warm, stupidly one temperature (as soon as you didn’t adjust it, it was useless ). There is no cleaning, they wash all the floors with one rag, the rag stinks, they don’t respond to comments because they don’t understand the language, they just smile. The linen was not changed even once in 11 days, the towels were “clean” and every other day they were dirty and not washed. Breakfast is monotonous, with only eggs, french fries, bread, jam and coffee. The view from the room is a separate issue, you will see in the photo. In general, a 3* hotel does not correspond, it is a two-room apartment and nothing more, the price for accommodation is very high.
