Overall a great experience. Location for proximity to places we wanted to visit was great. It was a simple one bedroom private room. Housekeeping service was always friendly and accommodating. Our only issue was that the shower space was not designed well. The tiled floor sloped away from the shower drain and would leave the entire restroom area wet and slippery. Would highly recommend updating the design. Aside from this issue, we did not have any problems. Area was safe and we would stay there again.

I strongly advise you not to go to this hotel. It is very noisy because there is no insulation, you bump into each other in the shower cubicle because it is so narrow, the television is dangerously poorly fixed with a screw, and so on... Run away!

It was the first time I used Ctrip to book a hotel abroad. The room in the picture when I placed the order was larger than the actual room.

Comfortable and clean room, close to walking from all tourist sites. Friendly staff. It does not have common areas as a hotel.

Amazing location, wonderful and helpful staff, clean room and so close to everything. Tram is only 350 meters away, downstairs has coffee shop, surrounded by lots of things to do and see. Everything is within short walk and nothing is too much to ask for.

Very spacious room provided which made our stay very comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean too. The area itself is amazing to stay in as the road directly behind the hotel had loads of lovely cafes where we had our breakfasts! There are also quite a few restaurants nearby to eat food and the hotel is only a few mins walk from the Galata bridge which was beautiful to walk across every morning. Staff are also very welcoming and kind!

Genoa Port is the hidden gem of Karaköy on a little dead end street just off the main drag. The rooms are extremely clean and well constructed. The sheets and pillows are luxurious. The manager is most kind, accommodating, and helpful. Wonderful and friendly help with bags. Turkish tea and coffee flow in reception where you can watch local news with fellow travelers and locals. Plus, there’s a fantastic antique store across the street!

Mixed impressions. Probably, if you look at the hotels in Istanbul in general, it is not bad for the price, but I have been to much better hotels and for a more business price. The room was cleaned every day, linen was changed once a week, I was embarrassed by the fact that when they changed our linen, they forgot to put pillowcases on my pillows, and there was also no duvet cover. There is very little space in the room, it’s catastrophic. The bathroom surprised me that the shower head and the shower head holder were broken; the shower smelled very strongly of sewage. The same question arose regarding the front door to the room, it is the cheapest interior door and there is no sound insulation. You could hear people going to their rooms, coughing, sneezing and talking (is it really so difficult to install normal doors). The cleaning of the room is very superficial, the window sills are dusty and there is also a lot of dust under them. The shower cabin was not cleaned even before check-in. Therefore, 3 out of 5 is not the worst hotel in Istanbul in a good area within walking distance of many attractions. ps: I was also infuriated by the switch in the head area and I constantly accidentally turned it on at night...
