I was offered a rate of 200 reais per person for Christmas dinner and that changed to 250 reais. I was told I could pay 50% upon my reservation and the remainder at completion. They demanded my full payment which I said no, they eventually complied. The original rate was not honored. The owner is known for her extravagant dinners so I moved forward. First they ran out of plates for the guests, so we stood there like cattle waiting for plates and silverware. Next when we were finished with our plates (buffet style) they did not clear or plates by the time we returned. The biggest complaint was they ran out of food after one hour. I asked the kitchen worker for more fish, she apologized and said “no more”. I ask the manager (nice woman dressed in red) and she promised more food. By this time there was a group waiting for food. I watched a table of six walk out. I myself waited, NOTHING! I have experience working for the world’s largest hotel chain, Hyatt Hotels. Never have I been deceived this much in my life. I risk writing this because I live here and it’s a small town. I was offered no compensation at all, nothing! Not a free water, which we ordered at least 10 waters and at 10 reais each. I guess looking for standards of a high end hotel here is impossible. They say they are five star. Far from it, I have stayed at Copacabana Palace and many Four Seasons hotels. This ranks with a Red Roof Inn. Needless to say I will never return and expect some nonsense response to this like I have seen happen in the past. Most are guests who come and go. I live here. Thanks for a R$ 1.250,00 incomplete Christmas dinner
