Hampton Inn Jacksonville

I recently stayed at this hotel a month ago for business and my rate was in the 120s. I tried to come back and stay this coming weekend and was told it was $267 per night. It was 233 per night in the Hilton app. In Jacksonville, Illinois mind you…. This is an absolute joke. I was able to find a nice “home sharing site” downtown for $120 a night with a $11 cleaning fee. As a diamond member, I really need to start rethinking my affiliation. I try my best to stay at Hilton properties, but this is getting out of control. While, this isn’t the first Hilton property I have seen do this, this is definitely the worst experience I’ve seen with price gouging. This predatory pricing is out of control. I get supply & demand but at some point, pure greed really stands out, and this is one of those times. I wonder if the price of a big Mac in Jacksonville Illinois more than doubled on this weekend versus last?

Standard Hampton Inn, which is a good thing. Room was clean, location was quiet (even rooms are on the back side, odd on the front), walkable to multiple restaurants, and the standard breakfast. Fitness center was small but had a peloton, treadmill, stepper, and a weight rack. For an in late, out early stay, exactly what is expected from a Hampton Inn.

Room was very clean & comfortable. The hotel was extremely quiet & the staff were friendly & helpful with check-in. Great spot for a quick stay overnight. Breakfast was included with the room rate & there were many options to choose from.

Turned on the heat and a swarm of beetles came out. So if you love bugs come on down. If you don’t, don’t worry. You will. Why? Because they won’t do anything for you. The halls? Oh, well they smell like sewer. But don’t worry. No one cares.

Overall my stay was pleasant. Staff was very friendly and the place was clean. The towels were very scratchy so if you’re looking for a good exfoliation you’re in luck. The breakfast buffet was standard. However, I am staying in town for 5 weeks and won’t be returning. The reason is because the fitness center is so small with so little equipment it shouldn’t even be considered a fitness center. I stay in hotels all over the US, often in Hampton Inns and this is the worst fitness center by far. If it were just the one week I wouldn’t worry about it, but for staying several weeks I need a better fitness center. I would highly recommend the hotel add a bench and, at the very least, a set of dumbbells. If you’re not needing the fitness center then I do recommend this hotel.

Arrived with the friendly check in to a very nice suite. pool opens early small workout room. Clean quiet comfortable room. Things that I wish they would change across all Hampton inns is the verbena aroma shampoo and soaps and upgrade the food just a bit in the morning.

Stayed here over the weekend to visit with family. The front desk was always staffed, clean inside and out, and good breakfast. Well stocked breakfast area always hot coffee & water for tea. Plenty of parking. Back off of main road so it is a quiet setting.

Spent five days here and we were very pleased with our choice. My husband and I travel often over many years and have a good base for comparisons. The hotel was clean, the staff was wonderful, our room was comfortable, the sofa and chair were supportive, the heating/cooling system was efficient and easy to control, and the breakfast buffet was good and varied each day. There was a snow/ice storm during our stay and the staff worked hard to keep the grounds manageable for parking and walking, This will be our "go to" place to stay for future Jacksonville visits (having stayed at a competitor's hotel twice before).

The customer service for Saturday and Sunday morning was phenomenal. Angie was so kind and knowledgeable. Rooms were nice, just wish the beds were a little comfier. We had trouble with our bathroom toilet but it was still a great stay!
